Why isn’t the cooler cold?

The “cooler” is merely a storage box. It does not keep the eggs cold. The eggs from Hens and Hearts Homestead are unwashed, therefore don’t need to be cooled or refrigerated. The bloom, which is the protective coating that occurs naturally on the outside of the egg to seal it from bacteria, is never washed off.

The eggs here are kept so clean they never need to be washed. This is a common practice in most countries. Definitely not in the US.

The eggs purchased from us can be kept on your counter for 30 days or put in the fridge for up to 3 months! Just don’t wash them until you’re ready to use them. (Personally, I don’t wash ever!)
