Some bands you go see. Max Creek is a band you grow up with.
Formed in 1971 by a few students at Hartt School in Hartford — basement rehearsals, a trio with an accordion player, little clubs around town. A teenage guitarist got banned from one of those clubs for being underage, then came back a year later for good. The keyboardist joined on short notice when a founding member landed in the hospital before a holiday show run — a "temporary" gig that lasted 50+ years.
Somewhere along the way, without really trying to, they became one of the first jam bands on the East Coast. They've shared stages with Jefferson Airplane, the Allman Brothers, and members of the Grateful Dead. A young Mike Gordon used to send his dad to tape their shows before Phish even existed.
Five decades and thousands of shows later, they still step on stage with no setlist and let the night write itself.
Now they're bringing that same magic to the farm.
START MAKING SENSE
Saturday August 15th
Doors at 4pm | Music starting at 7pm
$35 Presale - $40 Day of The Show
If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a tribute to genius. The musicians in this 7-10 piece Talking Heads Tribute take pride in faithfully recreating the music of Talking Heads entire career. Together they bring much of the Heads unique live show to the stage, with front man Jon Braun as a spot-on David Byrne, giving you a "once in a lifetime" experience. Prepare yourself for a rockin', funkin', danceable celebration of the new-wave art punk you loved from the 80's!
