Well… around here plans are apparently more like suggestions. 😂

The 4 AM alarm went off for market prep. A slow start + experimenting with 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝.

Then Shaunna texts: fever + throat on fire. Nope. Stay home. 😬
Rich washes eggs…and then the Lyme knocks him down. Tick-borne illnesses suck.

I’m about to start cookies when the hatchery posts extra chicks. Rich: “𝘎𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮.” Also Rich: “𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶.” 😂 So off to Versailles for shavings, then the hatchery, and now 𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 + 𝟓𝟎 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐲𝐬 are happily tucked into the brooders.

Now I’m REALLY behind. Text Taylor: 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸?
First week of school has kicked her butt and that answer is looking like a no, too. 😂

So rather than pull an all-nighter with no market help, 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬. 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐛𝐞 at Sedalia Area Farmers' Market on 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 after we harvest and restock — finally some really nice tomatoes again, peppers, potatoes, baked goodies and LOTS of eggs!

𝐒𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐬: We’ll be in town Saturday. I’ll inventory the freezers first thing in the morning, so if you’ve been waiting on chicken, watch for availability! Need chicken, eggs or baked goods? Message us and we can bring your order Saturday.

Just a reminder that markets are on Fridays only thru Oct. 30.

The State Fair came, Sedalia Area Farmers' Market moved,
and we disappeared for a week or two.
But Friday is here, the ovens are hot,
and tomorrow we’re back… just not in our usual spot. 😂

Downtown on Ohio, in front of Ozark Coffee,
3–6 Friday — that’s where we’ll be!

Today was a full day of mixing and baking,
tonight it’s packaging everything we’ve been making.
Then 3 AM comes and the bread goes in,
bagels are next and by 10 we should win.
Then load it all up, make the drive into town,
unload it again and get those tents tied down.
We’ve been off a couple weeks, so we may be a little slow…
hopefully by 3 we remember how this whole market thing goes. 😂

Cookies and breads and bagels by the stack,
plus plenty of the favorites you’ve been waiting to come back.
And pastured eggs from our medication-free hens,
fed certified organic feed and out on pasture again.
No synthetic sprays or fertilizers on the ground,
just chickens doing chicken things and scratching around. 🥚

And if time allows, there may be something new… 👀
we’ve got a few more things we’d still like to do.
No hints from us — you’ll just have to come see
what actually makes it to market by three. 😂
