Not all of our customers fit the typical demographic for an olive oil store…some are extra special. ♥️

This is Aspen.

Today we learned she loves our store, she’s 5 years old, she‘s homeschooled, takes karate, can do a cartwheel, and that the very first charm on her bracelet was a cupcake. 🧁

Thank you, Miss Aspen, for brightening our day and reminding us that sometimes the sweetest part of owning a small business has nothing to do with olive oil.

It’s the people.

Our stores are open. Our restaurants are ready. Our streets are welcoming. And while the rest of the world seems to be moving a hundred miles an hour, we’re over here doing what we do best…offering a slower pace, a warm welcome, and a little slice of small-town Texas ☀️

Whether she’s taking care of patients as Richard’s nurse, helping customers find their new favorite olive oil, covering weekends and holidays at the store without complaint, or simply greeting everyone with that beautiful smile of hers, Kat brings kindness, warmth, and joy wherever she goes.

Our customers absolutely adore her, our team loves her, and we feel incredibly grateful she’s part of our little olive oil family 🥰

Jamison’s Mercantile is hosting an indoor vendor event Rodeo weekend! Details here 👇

We are looking for some vendors for our market June 11-13. Hours will be 11:00-5:00. Booths will be $100 for all 3 days and will be 8’x 10’. If you’re interested, please fb message me photos of your merchandise. This will be a juried market. Vendors will have the option of having their booth open on Wednesday as well, but that is not a requirement.

A memory popped up today and it made me smile ❤

This was one of my cooking events a while back, and there I am doing what I do best… talking about olive oil. 😂🫒

But what caught my attention wasn’t me, it was Kaydin.

When she first started with us at Pawhuska Olive Oil Co., she was a shy teenager who barely wanted to be in front of people. Today, she confidently carries out the duties of General Manager of the Pawhuska store AND this store in Coleman, helps lead and create events for our store and the community, and recently won Coleman County’s Young Professional of the Year.

Watching young people grow into who they’re meant to be is one of the unexpected blessings of owning a small business.

Businesses aren’t really about apparel, dining, or olive oil.

They’re about people.

The relationships.
The memories.
The laughter.
The connection.

I’m so proud of this sweet girl and grateful for every person who has been part of our journey. ❤️
