I am looking for a proven breeding age buck. Ideally I’m looking for a nice stout, big b***d traditional but I’m willing to look at anything. I live in central Michigan and would prefer to stay within 3 hours driving time. Please pm me with pics (offspring too), registration # (if applicable), price and location. Thanks in advance!

Something that I learned about farming from my dad is: it’s as good as it gets. Like a perfect day that starts with dew in the morning and ends with a spectacular sunset as the evening chill sets in. It’s as good as it gets when you make the last bale of hay before a much needed rain or bringing in the last load of an abundant harvest. It’s as good as it gets when the animals are healthy and the prices are good.

Sometimes I curse, shake my head and wonder is this really as good as it gets? When every piece of equipment we need breaks down or when the cattle find every hole in the fence to roam free. It can’t be as good as it gets when the weather is either to dry or too wet or after round the clock care the calf still died.

But that is what farming is; you never know what kind day you’re going to get. Dad taught me to work hard, plow straight and shut the gate! Hopefully the good days out number the bad and yes farming is “as good as it gets”.

I love you dad and I will always be your shadow.

You make nights like last night magical!! ❤️love you Everleigh ❤️
