This orange cutie showed up at the farm the same week as the new tractor, so we named him Kubby (like Kubota). He was starving and sick, and we had a very stressful meeting where we tried to crate him to take him to the vet, but he bit me and ran away. He came back though, and we got him cleaned up, fed, and medicated. We are all totally in love 🧡

After 12 years of farming by hand, we made the leap and bought a tractor! We are waiting for the arrival of a few implements that we think will save lots of time and energy: a carrot digger and a compost spreader… but even without those implements, we are finding the tractor to be a huge improvement over spreading compost with buckets!
Big thank you to and for their financial assistance!!! We can’t wait to experience the full benefits of this new tool this summer, and will keep y’all posted 🚜

Today was tree planting day!!!! We planted 2150 trees and shrubs today at the farm. We didn’t have to do it all with a shovel, thankfully … but farmer Hannah, who’s joining us this season, did show us how it was done! She’s coming off a few seasons of tree planting in Canada 🇨🇦 and we are so glad she arrived in time for this “little” project!

More/different plant options each week, so you can add to your garden as spring rolls along.
