These survivor bees are allowed swarm and the new queens allowed to open mate with the surrounding feral bees and the surviving hives in the apiary. Nucs : At Beefuzz our nucs are made from adding frames of bees and eggs with no larva, a frame of pollen with bees and uncapped honey is used to get a superior queen. Two days before the queen emerges capped brood is placed in the nuc so the new virgin queen, after she makes her mating flight has a young work force to take care of the young vigorous mated queen.
