Quick recap from last weekends Smoke on the Rail bbq contest. Day one was not our best. 23 in chicken and 21 in ribs out of 35 teams. People’s choice wings scored much better placing us 11th out of 80. Day two was a bit better. 22nd in ribs and 2nd place chicken(thank goodness). Shout out to The Fat Is Where It's At for the different approach to trimming the pollo 🐥. In peoples choice pork we finished 53 out of 81 teams. Andy Shaffer and his crew do a fantastic job or running the event. Shout out to that whole crew. Congratulations to all the other teams that got a call. Possibly one more competition in Delaware later in September.

GC on the Bush River with Capt. Blue BBQ 1st annual Capt. Blue BBQ crab lottery winners!!! Not only does he get top ten calls, he also lands top 10 crabs. Thanks for a great day on the river.

If anyone was going to visit us at KSQUE in Kennett Square tomorrow we won’t be there. I thought I registered for the event but, I failed to do so. Not sure what our next competition will be.

Today was bird dogs over BBQ. It was a great day with my boy Fergus!!! One more qualifier and he will be certified as an AKC junior hunter.

Little skirt steak with home made chummy chura. Dry brined the steak in salt over night. Very tender but too salty. Less salt and brine time the next time.
