Good Morning!

Everyone has been moved over to the new section for about a week and are doing well. They are definitely excited for the morning when they can go back to doing all things goose.

Finished the new walkway to the deck today.

Quality Control aka Graycie always checking my work. She must've approved as she didn't leave any stamps 💩 of disapproval.

We'll call it a win!

We are so thankful to our friends Rocky MTN Stone for delivering some amazing stone for a small DIY project.

After the fire came flooding. We previously had some small pavers in the rocks, but they had to be commandeered for some flood mitigation.

This meant we needed to replace them with something else, and what is better than supporting an up and coming family owned business!!! All of the stone is made here in Colorado.

I was terrified to mess it up, but the stone is so easy to work with. The natural edges make it very forgiving when you don't know what you're doing. I think it turned out really nice. Maybe one day I'll finish restaining the deck 😆.

Whether you are looking for a large professional install or working on a small DIY, they are happy to help.

We've been busy trying to finish converting the farrowing barn into a space that can house the geese and the pigs while the fate of the big barn is determined.

The geese section is pretty much done and they got moved over. With these changes it is a bit crowded so we may be casually looking to place a couple birds.

Watermelon Summer!

The birds were enjoying their best life with some watermelon this morning. Poor melon never stood a chance.

The Mrs. & The Little from Rocky MTN Stone came to visit last week and brought us some amazing stone for a small DIY project, which will be revealed once complete!

The Mrs. got some fun shots of our naughty birds while she was here. We loved getting to spend some time with them.

If You Give a Pig a Pumpkin

You'll have pumpkins and squash growing all over the place!!!!

The rains have given the pig 💩 pumpkin patch a boost. Normally they are 3x this size by this time of the year.

Ebony and Vivian enjoyed a snack from their garden.

Sometimes it's the not so little!!!!

Finding a painting I've wanted for years nearby, for an affordable price, was too good to pass up.
Can't wait to get it up on the wall!!!

I've had several people ask why I don't cut the grass along the fences.

The neighbor behind us actually argued with us about it. Said "it would look better cut".

This is why I don't cut the grass along the fences.

Without the grass and the fence working together as a team, the driveway would have been washed into the pasture when we had torrential rains and flooding last week.

It's kept fences from being washed out and damaged on the areas near the creek.

Same reason we don't cut the grass near the creek. It helps prevent erosion.
