Today is extremely bittersweet for me. Grant and I had a difficult choice to make for our family: to continue the farm business or to let it go and follow a different path entirely.

We have hit a huge pay wall.
In a video game, hitting a pay wall means you can’t keep playing and leveling up until you pay money for the games tokens, coins gems or whatever.

Here in our business, the next step would have been opening up our own butcher shop and trying to manage that while simultaneously operating the farm. It’s a step we seriously considered, but decided not to take that massive $ leap. Our business can’t operate with fewer and fewer slaughter spots, higher feed bills and high cost of processing.

We have wonderful customers who I cherish dearly. I am sad today that we will no longer be able to supply their families with quality local meat in 2021.

An email went out today to inform our customers of our decision to close our farm and people can still purchase pork, lamb, beef and bison from us until Feb 11th. Please email us any orders you would like to get in before we close at [email protected]

If you have any interest in purchasing farm related equipment or animals, please email us.

Thank you all for trusting us to help fill your freezers and feed your families.

Blessings,

Grant and Alison G.

As most of you know, we’ve had our freezers pretty well cleaned out the last few months. With the shortage of processor spots available refilling our freezers as well as filling outstanding orders has certainly been a challenge!

After visiting with the Fred at F & R Ranch in Kansas, the same guys who supply our bison, they offered us one of their spots for a grass fed steer to help us get through the next little bit until our processing spots are up.

We were able to have the steer dry aged and cut to our specs and brought it home to try. We couldn’t be more thrilled with how it turned out!

In times like this, it’s good to know that there are still other famers and ranchers willing to each other out.

So, we will be able to get the outstanding orders for sampler boxes filled as well as share the steaks, roasts, and burger with you starting at the farmers market in Black Forest tomorrow!

Thank you all for your patience and flexibility as we navigate how to more efficiently keep our freezers stocked.
