May 2026 Meeting Recap – MCHA
The Monmouth County Homebrewers Association met on May 18 at Twin Lights Brewing in Tinton Falls. The meeting was moved up one week due to Memorial Day weekend.
With no formal topic scheduled, the night turned into a relaxed but productive discussion covering a range of brewing topics.
President Kevin coordinated details for the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone Project, with participating members planning to meet for ingredient distribution ahead of the July tasting.
Members also discussed different methods for adding sugar during the brewing process, including additions during the boil, while transferring wort, and during active fermentation.
Another upcoming highlight: one member mentioned plans to bring in homemade wines from several vintages for future tastings.
The night wrapped up with seven homebrews shared, including a Belgian Dubbel, multiple IPAs, a Dunkelweizen, Belgian Hybrid, and even a homemade grape juice wine.
