We had our last calf of spring this week. Our calving season this spring lasted 68 days from the first calf to the last! And now we are getting ready to start synchronizing for breeding!

We had a busy weekend around the farm. The cows got their spring vaccinations and turned out on grass. We made a new paddock for the goats and got them out on some fresh grass. Everyone had to pitch in and do their share too!!

Springtime has so much to offer on the farm! We completed our kidding this week with one single and two sets of twins. First time mom, Bubbles needed a little assistance but is doing a great job so far! We had our last heifer calve so just waiting on a couple cows and then we will be done with calving! And then you always have to make time for fun whether it’s playing king of the mountain or riding the tractor!!

I caught the calves out enjoying a beautiful afternoon! We just love watching them zoom around at this age!

What’s been happening the past week? Calves, calves, calves! The weather has been great and the calves are looking good! We had one that needed a little extra attention but she is doing better now! We are down to just a few cows left to calve from AI breedings. We have some Hereford calves out of Houston and Resolve G595. Our baldy calves are out of Simmental bull Gibbs Culmination and Sim-Angus bull C-3 Next Up. We are excited to see all of these calves develop!
