A huge thank you to The Free Times Post and Courier Columbia for featuring us as one of the 7 Events to Celebrate Juneteenth in Columbia This Year!

We're honored to be recognized among so many meaningful events commemorating freedom, culture, history, and community throughout the Midlands.

Juneteenth is an opportunity to reflect on the past, celebrate progress, and continue building stronger communities together. We are grateful for the media partners who help shine a spotlight on local events and organizations working to bring people together.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission, attend our events, volunteer, sponsor, and help us create experiences that celebrate culture and community.

We appreciate the recognition and look forward to seeing everyone as we continue celebrating Juneteenth and building momentum toward an incredible Black Eats Week 803!

We have some good news and some bad news…Unfortunately, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Best of Black Eats Week Competition & Festival.

While we received an overwhelming response and enthusiasm from attendees, we did not receive enough participation from restaurants and food vendors to make the event successful. After speaking with several business owners, many shared concerns about the financial risks associated with participating, including rising food costs and the potential for food waste. We respect their concerns and understand the challenges many small businesses are facing.

The good news is….Please know that Black Eats Week 803 Restaurant Week is still happening as planned, and we encourage you to support the participating restaurants, food trucks, coffee shops, and culinary businesses throughout the week by taking advantage of their special offers and featured menu items.

All ticket refunds for the Best of Black Eats Week Competition & Festival have been processed through Eventbrite. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to appear in your account. If you do not receive your refund within that timeframe, please contact us.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause. We are incredibly grateful for your support and enthusiasm, and we remain committed to growing Black Eats Week 803 as a platform that celebrates and supports Black-owned food businesses throughout the Midlands.
