What started as an accidental double-protein order at Addison’s turned into a delicious discovery. The fried chicken stayed perfectly crispy while the salmon added an unexpectedly wonderful complement to my salad. While not a traditional Cobb (missing egg), the generous portions and consistently excellent ex*****on made this "mistake" worth repeating. The restaurant's reliability and quality make it a standout choice for takeout, even when handling non-standard orders.

Tim and I got Pasta La Fata to go, and it was delicious; however, we are not sure we will make it a habit, as the price per portion was a bit steep. My order, gorgonzola spinach and mafaldine with a side salad, came out to nearly $20 after tax and it did not hold me over for very long. We do enjoy picking up their homemade Italian cookies though as gifts for friends from out of town which are >$20 a dozen after tax.

Tim and I made our way out to Wine 101 to catch up at the end of our day, and we were not disappointed! Cozy atmosphere, great food, extensive wine collection - all for a great price. Tim and I got the beef queso with chips as well as shared a variety of drinks.

Krustacean’s Seafood in Columbia, Missouri has become Tim's and my go-to destination for exceptional seafood! What sets them apart is their seasoning and presentation. Unlike many seafood spots that serve their dishes in plastic bags requiring hands-on diving in, Krustacean's elevates the dining experience with plating that maintains convenience. The establishment and crew are always clean, personable, and inviting. The food is always out in record time, as well.

The value here is outstanding - two people can feast for under $30 and still have enough for tomorrow's lunch. Their signature five-cheese macaroni deserves special mention, featuring a creamy blend of havarti, mozzarella, smoked Gouda, cheddar, and Parmesan, with just the right hint of spice to complement the seafood.

This restaurant has become our mandatory stop whenever we are in Columbia. The only minor drawback is their somewhat unpredictable hours, but the incredible food makes it worth planning around their schedule.

Ham and turkey sandwiches on the lake. On this day, we did not catch anything - well, we did not catch any fish. We caught and released at least five turtles, giving this lake the nickname “Turtle Lake”. Sometimes it is more about the time spent together than it is about bringing anything home.

Tim and I took a trip down to Via 313 to try out some deep dish pizza. Delicious! We each got our own slice - one cheese and one pepperoni. We also got breadsticks. All in all, it was great for a once in awhile treat, but we are not sure it will be our go to for pizza nights due to the total cost. Little Caesar has a hold on our hearts.

Quick on the go meal!

In the mornings, I am always rushing to class. Breakfast is one of the easiest meals for me to skip. To make sure I am eating enough calories in the day, I meal prep on the weekends with Tim. This is a standard egg and cheese biscuit I froze and reheated in the microwave! It was delicious.
