It’s always a good day to show, and hang out with all our fellow goat people. Today we’re walking away from the Smoky Mountain Summer Classic with our first finished champion!

Anamchara Farm PL Loulou went Grand Champion under Karen Smith and Greg Murphy. She went Reserve under Erin Griner.

Not only did she finish today, Loulou went BIS under Greg Murphy!

I could not be ever more thankful to Taralee Home for offering me Loulou as a 2yo FF. She’s earning her keep daily on the milk stand and in the ring 🥳

Creek View Hollow HotEspresso (Mocha) took Reserve in all three rings. While Recorded Grades didn’t sanction, we had fun regardless, and Mocha garnered many positive comments from all the judges.

Maeve was consistently second in her class, and Britt was middle of the pack in a very nice group of 3 year olds.

So so proud of my girls! Special thanks to Daniel for being supportive, the best driver, and self proclaimed pack mule 😘

She may not be front of the line at a show, but she’s always ready to work, easy to milk, and she will mature into a beautiful doe. I’m sure of it. 💙

Working on preserving some of the cool weather veggies we’re getting in the garden.

Beets and broccoli will be blanched and frozen for future meals. While I normally can beets, I’d rather get them put up than wait to have enough to do a large batch in the canner.

At least the garden is enjoying the rain.

Beans are growinf beautifully. Bush beans are starting to flower. Yesterday, I worked on setting posts and trellising, finally got cucumbers sown, and trellis in for them. Not sure what happened to the first round I sowed, but they never germinated 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hopefully round two goes better 🤞

All the summer squash, zucchini, winter squash and pumpkins have exploded with growth. Tomatoes are pruned and staked now, thankfully. Blueberries and mulberries are slowly ripening. I even harvested my first head of cabbage today!

Broadcasted a bag of Black Oil Sunflower seeds over the woodchips at the beginning of our driveway. I’d say they’re appreciating the rain. All 25lbs of seeds worth. 😬
