Happy Juneteenth!
Today I sit with the work of Black people who we’re forced to work land and even afterward choose to continue to work land in hope of a better life and future.
I sit with the Black farmers in my life who constantly struggle for land access, capital, market access, safety and all the other challenges that make farming difficult. Donate to a Black farmer. Buy from a Black farmer. Go volunteer for a Black farmer…just don’t show up randomly. Give land to a Black farmer. Thank a Black farmer.

A quick update about the farm. At this point I’m looking to purchase 8-15 acres in the midlands regions of South Carolina. Preferably between Charlotte and Columbia. If you have any leads please send them my way. You haven’t seen me post about markets because I’ve been exclusively selling produce through the LFPA grant. This helps me focus on growing, harvesting and land searching without having to spend a lot of time at farmer’s markets. If you want to donate my venmo is

Starting seeds and tackling w**ds.
Here are a few spring highlights:
Daryl of the shared mother Africa okra with me and I soaked them before sowing. Excited to see this variety and praying I do everything I can to avoid nematode damage*
💚
The kale and collards plants my grandmother and I planted look happy.
💚
I moved a tarp in high wind today and it was a terrible idea.
💚
There are w**ds in the pathways but the potatoes carrots, and onions are w**d free.
💚
My seedling game is strong this year.
💚
Lastly, I’m still on the hunt for land. At this point I want to purchase a farm property and I’m sowing those seeds for this next year.

Full Moon in Leo 🌕
Showing love to the garlic by spraying diluted fish emulsion. Showing love to myself by allowing my mishaps be happy accidents. I cancelled the last weekend volunteer days because of the cold weather. I needed that time to rest anyway. This week I tilled in the dead plant material and now I can amend the future onion bed for planting this weekend while the moon is waning.

t’s a new moon in capricorn. I’m focusing in giving offerings to the land and visualizing the next season. There are three volunteer days this month. First one is this Monday. I am so grateful for those that came out to volunteer last month. We got everything on the list done! This month there’s focus on forming the tools for prosperous harvest in spring. Planting, sowing, and constructing!
Swipe left to see our new farm pup! Curtis is the reason I‘ve been taking less photos. Working on getting him trained to not eat and dig up everything🙃. He gives me precious companionship so I can

Hey Folks. I’m going out of town this weekend to attend a funeral and spend quality time with my extended family in rural Virginia. It’s bittersweet that my first weekend away from the farm is for a passing of my family member but being able to go is more important. I’m taking all my produce with me and making some bouquets so you won’t catch me at the Rosewood Market today.
Next Thursday catch me at the . That market accepts and can TRIPLE SNAP benefits. Spend $5 and get $15 dollars in tokens to spend on local produce, eggs, and meat.
As always

Evenin!! Come out and catch me at the Owens Field Farmers Market tomorrow from 4-6pm. I’ll have bell peppers, hot peppers, cherry tomatoes, green beans, and bundles of lemon and italian basil and fresh oregano.
🌿
The first photo in this post was taken by my friend . They are amazing behind the camera and really helped me feel empowered to get my photo taken at the farm even though it’s so w**dy right now.
🌽
The last slide is the dent corn I grew for the first time this year. I still have so much to learn from corn as a plant ally. It wasn’t dry enough to start shucking but I still took great joy in looking at the beautiful kernels.
