🚜 Critical Equipment: Securing a flail mower attachment for our walk-behind BCS tractor to prep beds efficiently, manage crop residue, and build long-term soil health.

🍂 Field Operations & Regional Delivery: Covering seeds, organic inputs, irrigation lines, and transport fuel across our cultivation sites in Harrisburg (DCP1), Ashland (DCP2), and Pierpont (LGN1).

Everyone has seen or used a standard loofah - typically bright colored, plastic and found at almost any store. But did you know you can grow and make your own Luffa sponges?!

This is one of the most fun processes that I learned this season. From seed, to growing dozens of Luffa Gourds on our trellis. I’ve now started drying and peeling each gourd to turn into natural, homemade sponges! Great for use in the shower or for cleaning dishes and so much more.

We’ll have sponges out at the farm stand soon for purchase or let me know if you are interested in any seed to try yourself next year! And if we typically exchange gifts during the holidays, you better believe you’ll be getting sponges this year! 😂

Farm life lately 🖤

You guys, we have pumpkins!!! The cutest, most beautiful pumpkins grew in MY garden, high tunnel and trellis and I couldn’t be more proud. And Bailey was kind enough to do the harvesting and lifting while I supervised and tried to save my back.

We’re letting these guys sit and harden for a couple days and then we’ll take inventory of what we have. Can’t wait to put these out at the farm stand for you!!

Who knew that it would be the green bean harvesting that would take me out? 🫛🫛🫛

About a week ago, I was casually harvesting in the garden. Once I came back inside though, my back decided to completely give out. So after a trip to the urgent care and a week of muscle relaxers, today was my first day back out in the garden. I could barely get through the tasks I had set out to do, but it was nice to see how everything was doing out there again. The garden and high tunnel are overgrown and wild and plants are starting to die off heading into Fall. But some things are still going strong and I’m hoping to get the farm stand restocked soon! Bear with me (and my back!).

Also harvested our first Luffa’s tonight - we have dozens growing out on the trellis and plan to make natural homemade sponges out of them!

Family Man Construction does it again 😊 We love working with Kegan and Kelsey and already have so many more projects we can’t wait for them to help with! So thankful to get our driveway and septic drainage area looking more beautiful than ever!
