y herds of cattle and club lambs. Platinum Livestock exsisted long before the name did. Bobby and Jo have been in the commercial and purebred industries since the 1980’s. They have managed to stay in the business by focusing on quality genetics and excellent customer service. Today, Bobby and Jo as well as their children manage Platinum Livestock. Bobby and Jo instilled a strong work ethic and keen eye for livestock in all their children. Katlyn, Kristopher, Katryna, and Kassie are no strangers to the show ring. We have spent 23 years together raising, breeding, and showing livestock across the nation. We take pride in our quality of livestock but above everything else we take pride in teaching children. We are doing our part to ensure things are left better for those generations yet to come. This is our legacy.

Sheep update….the young shepherd gets a gold star. We have been waiting on the last set of lambs. He went out every hour to make sure babies were all doing fine and the ewe wasn’t in labor. About 10, he came back saying she had gone into labor. At 10:45 we went back to check and realized she wasn’t progressing.

The old shepherd, Bobby, came to check on us….loaded her up and off to the vet school they went. B and I got to watch via FaceTime from home….but happy to say….we have twins!

If all goes well, we end lambing season with 7 lambs out of 4 ewes. We’ll take that!

It 7:40 and school is out, but one middle schooler is out the door to check on lambs. No one asked him to go out this early, but I heard him hop out of bed and down the stairs he went…..I’m very proud of how attentive he’s been during his first lambing season. Heads to the barn every two hours like clockwork. Just waiting for that last set of lambs to appear!

It's so exciting to announce our next "Class" of First-Time MSF Livestock Exhibitor Grant recipients. We received 111 applications and are pleased to report 46 grants were awarded, affecting 57 youth who will make their debut in the 2021 MSF showring.
