New vegan spot unlocked on this trip: Yukon Pizza; I Can’t Believe It’s Not Pepperoni pizza. Omni pizza joint, but dedicated vegan menu, complete with vegan ranch that is to DIE for. It’s across from The Huntridge. Worth my 30 minute drive!!! Wish I had more time to check out the place, but their sourdough crust is reason enough to pay them a visit. 10 / 10!!

Meet my new cutco rep, Niko (yuh)! I work with him at Oleum , and he hooked me up with this new 9 1/4” French Chef’s knife. He’s a young and brilliant salesperson - absolutely NOT PUSHY, which I love, and an overall great, hard-working human.

My relationship with Cutco Cutlery started 14 years ago when I attended Camp Blogaway, and I’ve been in love ever since. If being made in the USA is important to you, this is the only knife company that still manufactures in the US. The knives are exceptional!

They don’t just do knives either - they also have kitchen tools (the best can openers!!), serveware and garden tools too, like hand-held spades and claws. The quality is exceptional!

As I age, my body craves clean and fresh ingredients - this dish is just that. Chickpeas are such a great source of protein, so we whipped up a hummus plate, then did roasted beets and steamed fioretto from One Rock Farm & Farmacy , red Russian kale from our garden, and microgreens from Metro Microgreens. Such a yummy late-spring dish!

Nutritional powerhouse. Beans & Greens are a thing, and pairing vitamin c rich foods (red peppers) with dark leafy greens boosts your body’s absorption of plant based iron. THAT optimizes your energy levels. Woohooo!

I started with a base of pinto beans, adding sautéed garlic scapes and the red Russian kale from our garden. Then for the main protein, simple pan fried tofu, roasted bell pepper and fire roasted corn. 😋 Tons of fiber, iron, protein, antioxidants… this is the food that keeps me going!

My husband is the fu***ng best. I love that we bring ideas to life, and have created this space where we can process and integrate life’s lessons. We’ve long wanted a space to chill in our vast front yard - while trying to “eliminate” our front lawn, replacing it with hardscape and pollinator friendly flowers and plants. He’s worked so hard to get it set up for success this season, while I’m grinding at Oleum. Simple things in life are just so fu***ng precious. On my Saturday, I’m so grateful to be able to enjoy this space in the shadow of our neighbors giant silver maple tree.

22 years today with my best friend, lover, ride or die. Every couple goes through good times and bad times, and our relationship is no exception. BUT I’m happy to declare that most times are good times lately. Happy to be on this wild ride with you, my love! 💋🖤🌱🌺 Glad we were able to steal away for a few minutes on this first day of May / Beltane / Full Moon 🌕

I’ll also be at later celebrating their 2nd anniversary! Come on down and grab some phenomenal grub & bevvies!
