Can we discuss the phrase “run of the mill”? 🤔
Even though its origin seems to reference the early textile and lumber mills of the 19th century, it has now become a far too-common way to describe the ordinary, the average… the unremarkable.
When OUR mills are running at Anson Mills, every move is made with precision, and all decisions are made with intention. The results? Inspired ingredients that are anything but average.
Here’s an example:
At Anson Mills, our oats are stone-cut on the bias, NEVER rolled. Rolling oats (a common modern milling practice) removes natural oils, bran, live germ, IE: the essence of what makes oats outstanding. Finding flavor becomes a feat, and we just don’t roll like that.
