One day we'll look back and be able to say "we did this".

We have ceilings, mostly 😆

Hung, finished, textured, and two coats of paint.

Starting to see the light at the end of this dusty drywall tunnel.

We've had a very busy and productive week!

More drywall work, more mudding, priming, and a whole lotta sweating.

We had a special delivery this morning! Our custom kitchen cabinets have arrived and we're almost ready to start setting them into place.

I can finally start to visualize what our home is going to look like and I'm so thankful we took the chance.

I get asked a lot for advice. Advice about gardening, raising livestock, canning, etc.

If you've never taken my advice, please listen to me this time.

Never for ANY reason under ANY circumstance let anyone teach you how to do drywall work 😂.

They will say "you'll save yourself thousands of dollars" or "it's so rewarding".

They are not wrong, but you'll find dust in places there shouldn't be dust and you'll be cleaning everything for the rest of your life.

10/10 do not recommend. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

You find some really interesting things when remodeling a house.

This birds nest came out of a ceiling that we were removing.

So far, we've really been thankful that everything we decided to remove, change, or tear out hasn't led to bigger problems.

We met our only neighbor last week. She lives nearly a mile away.

The way she described living here was completely accurate. She said "time stops here". That is certainly what it feels like.

The hustle stops.
The only bustle comes from critters.
Everything seems more intentional.

She's lived on our quiet road for years. Can you guess where she's from?

Of all the places in the world, 5 hours from Indiana, we managed to become neighbors with a sweet lady from Noblesville!

What a privilege it is to wake up to this beautiful sunrise and hear nothing but the singing of birds.

Nothing quite compares to the amount of peace I feel in these mountains.

Such a beautiful world we get to live in.

Nothing more accurately describes the last 6 months of our lives than this doormat 😅

In February we put our Indiana farm on the market. It sold in 2 days. We moved in with family and continued looking for our dream farm.

We had already been looking for two years at this point. Then we found it.

We bought the Kentucky farm.

This property checked every one of our boxes. The only thing, the house needed a lot of love. A lot.

For the last month, we've dug our heels into gutting the house on our new farm, hence the broken tile in this photo.

We have a long way to go, but if you know either of us, you know we pour our blood sweat and tears into everything we do. We can't wait to make this house our home.

Caught someone out enjoying the shade on this beautiful day.

Can you spot the doe?
