The self-serve stand is stocked with fresh Rainbow Dozens this morning! 🌈🍳

If you’ve been meaning to stop by, today is a great day to grab a dozen (or two!) while they’re available. Our hens have been hard at work, and these colorful cartons don’t always stick around for long. 😊

🍎 My little apple trees 🍎

I bought these trees in the dead of winter from the frozen outdoor section at Walmart. They were basically tiny sticks stuck in a brick of frozen dirt. 😆 I thought, “Maybe I can save them!” 🤞

So I brought them home and tucked them away in the barn for the rest of the winter. Then one day in early spring, I was working in the barn and happened to glance over at them… and they were sprouting leaves! I was beyond excited. 🌱

Eventually, we found the perfect spot and planted them last year.

And now… they’re growing their very first apples! 🍎🎉

I know they’re just little apple trees, but I’m ridiculously proud of them. Watching things grow never gets old. ❤️

Anyway, just a random happy post to brighten your day!

🥦 First harvest of the season for us — broccoli! 🥦

We LOVE broccoli around here! Steamed broccoli, cheddar broccoli soup, fresh broccoli with dip… yum! 😋

As you can see, my broccoli was harvested a tiny bit later than ideal. 😂 It had started trying to flower, but it’s still perfectly edible and headed to our table!

I was half tempted to let it keep going just to see what would happen. Maybe next time! Have any of you ever let your broccoli flower and go to seed?

That’s my latest update on our garden. We’re learning as we go and having a lot of fun along the way. 😊🌱

I’ll be mowing our pasture, and I’m sure Darling will be right there “helping” the whole time. 😆

As adults, with all the responsibilities and endless to-do lists, when was the last time you did something just for fun?

This year has been a little crazy, so I decided I wanted a garden. Not a perfectly planned garden—just a garden filled with whatever I wanted to grow. 😆

So far I have sunflowers, tomatoes, poppies, broccoli, corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, potatoes, carrots, radishes, lettuce, and loofahs.

Have I ever grown corn before? Nope.
Have I always wanted to try? Yep.

Sometimes life isn’t that deep, bruh (as my kids say) Plant the corn. Paint your nails a fun color. Get the pet cow. Sing loudly in the car. Put your phone down for an hour and just be present.

The to-do list will still be there later. Take 20 minutes to watch your garden grow, play with your kids, read a book, listen to the birds, or even take a nap.
