We may be partial, but we think this is such a great heifer 😍 Jessie is out of a first time heifer and is 1yr 1mos old! She has NEVER been separated from her mom and has been weaned since she was 9mos old! Cows naturally (if they are given the option) wean their calves anywhere from 8-11mos old! We like this because as the calf grows and consumes less milk and more grass, the cow starts producing less milk, just like humans do, and when the calf is ready to wean she will not have as much milk to dry up and they will also be more mentally prepared to be separated if one if them were to be sold.

We do still pull calves to wean early for medical reasons like if the calf is pulling the mothers weight down but try to wait until the cow has done it naturally.

Okay Charlie fans!! He is officially out of the house! His horn hole had gotten infected and inflamed from allergies and had to take his 3rd trip to the vet but he is healing up great and is out with his Porsche! I don't know who is happier, Charlie or Porsche 🥰

This heifer calf and 2 bull calves are going to be at the Russell County Stockyards tomorrow!! Will also have our 2yrs+ speckled heifer Flurry there and a 2yrs+ BWF heifer that is so calm and easy to handle that you can touch on her and do not have to worry about her kicking or running you over! We will also have 2 older momma cows that should be bred back! One is a young beefmaster cow!

Baby Calvin has started teething so I have not had time to make videos as he needs more attention currently. But here is a sweet video of Charlie lastnight when I was walking up to the farmhouse to check on him 🥺 this baby is so precious, I just love him so much!

Charlie is lonely but still needs isolation due to his horn hole being open still.

Share our reels and our page to help us get to 1,000 followers so we can start earning on our reels to help buy snacks, housing and play equipment for our goats and cows! Once we hit 1,000 and start earning then I will make sure the treat mobile starts rounds again!
