My husband growing up was often found milking his families cows and goats. I was no familiar with this chore by any means but I was curious… so several years ago my husband remembering his childhood chore and how good goat milk was began our family on a journey. When we purchased our first Nannie’s several years ago we milked and our family fell in love with goat milk. Easy to digest, fresh daily, and pairs extremely well with cereal, in my own humble opinion, the benefits of goat milk are endless. My husband and I aren’t begginers at keeping animals, we have had everything from horses and chickens to rabbits and peafowl. Goats are super easy keepers they will browse through your lawn and pastures and you will find them happiest in the messiest hedges and the thickets briar patches. They also love trimming your low hanging branches for you and not even to mention how much they love honeysuckle vines. Goats are adorable and its not hard to milk them and to drink and use that milk for cheese , yogurt, and even soap. We have gained seven nannies all of whom are expecting babies in the next few weeks. And this is where you find us at now. In the next several months we will have more milk than we know what to do with so… we are going to be using that surplus milk for various things. I hope you can enjoy this adventure with us. There are lots more things to come.
