Alabama is taking proactive steps to keep New World Screwworm (NWS) out of our state. In response to the recent detection in Texas and New Mexico, enhanced interstate movement requirements for warm-blooded animals, including equine, livestock and companion animals, are being put in place for animals entering Alabama from the infested states.

These measures are designed to protect animal health, strengthen biosecurity and safeguard Alabama agriculture. If you suspect an animal may have NWS, please call the State Veterinarian’s Office at 334-240-7253 or email [email protected].

Thank you to Bar S Cattle for coming to inspect our cattle and choosing two Ladner Brahman bulls to lead their registered brahman and brahman F1 breeding programs. These bulls were selected for low birthweights, docility, and dark pigmentation.

We are blessed to have raised and exhibited the Champion Red Natural Produce of Dam at the 2026 Extravaganza. This award gave us much pride in the performance of our Dam: Miss Ellen Ray 256/0 and our breeding program. Pictured are two maternal siblings, both produced from artificial insemination, and they were born 357 days apart. As we walked the two siblings into the ring, the show staff did a double take and questioned if the two were actually embryo siblings or twins, considering how close they were in age and size. We were like, “Nope, they are just the product of good fertility lol”.
