Our Community U-Pick is open year round from dusk to dawn! Stop anytime by to harvest fresh produce, wander the gardens or simply enjoy a beautiful third space in the city.

If you'd like to get to know the U-Pick a little more intimately, here are a few ways to join us:

🌱 Supported Community U-Pick — Sundays from 9 to 11 a.m. Join us for harvest and connect with neighbors. There is always a staff member on site to help answer any questions that may come up as you walk the garden.

🌱 Rooted: A Pop-Up care village hosted by Make-A-Day — June 15 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Rooted brings together local organizations offering fresh food resources, benefits navigation, mobile health services, legal support, and other community resources in one welcoming space. This free event is designed to make care, connection, and support more accessible to our neighbors.

🌱 Volunteer With Us — Looking to dig deeper? Volunteers help plant, w**d, harvest, build, and care for this shared space throughout the season. Look for upcoming volunteer shifts at the link in our bio.

🌱Become a Friend of the U-Pick —Want to contribute in a different way? Consider donating to our Friend of the U-pick campaign. Your gift helps keep the U-Pick open as a free community resource, supporting tools, plants, infrastructure, and the on going care that helps keep this garden growing. Visit the link in our bio to learn more about donating.

The U-Pick belongs to all of us! Whether you stop by for a tomato or a volunteer shift, there's a place for you here!

Every Sunday beginning June 7th at 9-11, the guided U-pick experiences begin! (867 W Town)

While the U-Pick is always open, these guided sessions are an opportunity to build familiarity with the space and learn more about how & when to harvest. They are led by farm staff and all supplies you may need will be provided! Open to any one who is curious about picking their own fresh food!

At the heart of this project is the understanding that we all deserve access to fresh food, beauty, knowledge, and community. That the u-pick can be a place where needs are met collectively, where abundance is shared, and where people who may not otherwise cross paths get to spend time together.

If you’re in a place to contribute, your support helps make these sessions accessible for everyone. Donations help cover staffing, harvest supplies, tools, upkeep of the space, and free participation for all 🥬 Learn more about this program at the link in our bio!

We hope to see you in the U-Pick this summer. 🍉

This week on the farm 🌿🥬

We welcomed back for another Rooted event! They brought resource tables and their iconic free food truck was serving up delicious burgers and a special salad featuring FF produce! We loved having them in the U-Pick & hunting for strawberries alongside our neighbors!

The brand new potato field makes its seasonal debut! Our team tucked peppers + cucumbers into their summer homes and potted up raspberries bushes for our free plant give away happening June 7th outside of the community u-pick!

We’re also gearing up for our Curated U-Pick sessions beginning June 7th from 9–11 AM, guided harvest mornings focused on hands-on education, fresh food, and helping folks feel more connected to where their food comes from. No registration needed & all tools are provided!

Signs of summer are starting to emerge at every corner, the gooseberries and black currants are right on the edge on ripening & the cherry trees are bursting with fruiti 🍒

Curious to learn more about our events or ways to support our work in Franklinton? Vist the link in our bio or DM us! We'd love to answer any questions!

Big things are underway at the farm this week 🌱☀️

✨ Major U-Pick updates: all the beds have been flipped and we’re officially planting out your summer favorites! 🍅🍆🥬

✨ Our amazing volunteer coordination team is working to bring back individual volunteer shifts and improve the volunteer experience even more.

✨ The Learning Garden got a fresh spruce-up just in time for our upcoming Summer Wellness Series + weekly Tea Time gatherings 🍵

✨ We also stopped by Honest Friend Brewing to recruit volunteers and sip some seriously delicious beer infusions + mocktails 🍻🌿

So much goodness already, and the season is just getting started 🎉

Join us on April 30th for a U-Pick Listening Session in the PK Learning Garden at 5:30 PM 🌱

You shared that later times make it easier to show up for community events so we’re listening. This is another opportunity to help shape the future of U-Pick at Franklinton Farms, including input on a new mural being installed this summer!

Your voice matters in how this project grows and reflects our community. Whether you’ve been coming for years or it’s your first time, we’d love to hear from you!

Can’t make it in person? Visit the link in our bio to fill out a quick survey and share your thoughts on the U-Pick!

Because our online store functions as a social enterprise, the money you spend goes right back into supporting food access and growing more for our community. The online store opens each week on Tuesdays at 6am for pick-up at our office on Fridays!

We are committed to matching SNAP benefits for online store purchases so every dollar can go a little further.
