The little break from baking has been nice, but I think it’s time to get back to normal — or at least my new version of normal.

I’m still slowing things down and keeping a little more room in my calendar, but I’m ready to make some cookies again.

I’ve been a little MIA around here lately.

My brother passed away unexpectedly recently. It took me far from home and normal life for a bit, and gave me a lot of time to think. It’s definitely given me a different perspective on how I want to spend my time.

I still love making cookies, but I’ve realized I don’t want them to take up quite as much of my time as they have in the past. There are a lot of other things I enjoy doing too, and I want to leave more room in my life for those things. So going forward, I’m going to be taking fewer orders and keeping a little more space in my calendar.

I also know there will be more travel ahead as I take care of my brother’s affairs, but I really don’t know when that will be. Having a little more room in my calendar will give me the flexibility to go when I need to.

I’m definitely not giving up cookies — you’ll just be seeing a few less of them.
