Our spring 2026 barn cleanup day was heavy on the cleaning! Twice a year, we all get together to tackle the chores and improvement projects we can't get to day-to-day in a co-op designed to minimize the daily chore load. What we decide to tackle is a group effort, with everyone bringing their own ideas of what needs done.

Since we no longer store hay in the loft, decided to get rid of all the old, loose hay to make it easier to keep on top of. I don't think I've seen that floor the whole time I've boarded here! and deep cleaned the tack room, bathroom, and feed room, and Deb and Bailey also walked the fence line replacing fence post caps. did heavy proactive maintenance on our Nelson auto-waterers and Mahlon chopped up fallen trees and fixed fences.

I'm so grateful for a group of boarders that feel as much love and ownership of the place as if they owned it too. ❤️❤️❤️

Welcome new boarder Plum and his family Lyndsey and Maddie! We are so excited to have you. Plum is really rounding out our Breeds of the World thing we have going on here, since we didn't have a Quarter Horse and we didn't have a palomino before he moved in. We now have an OTTB, a Paint/Morgan, an Arabian, an Icelandic, two Welsh Cobs and a QH, and that makes us totally full!

This pair of foxes has made Windsor Stables home lately, and we can't say we blame them!

We are looking forward to winter evening chore shifts taking MUCH less time than they did last year thanks to our new Hay Hut! We also removed a fence line in this sandy drylot to create a big, open, all-weather space so that we don't need to keep the horses inside to protect the fields on wet days. As a co-op, we are always trying to make things easier on ourselves and better for the horses!

Our office/lounge has gotten quite an upgrade this year, with high-speed internet, a USB-C dual monitor docking station for those days when you need to work from the barn, and additional boarder storage.

We are thrilled to be welcoming Kate Little back for a Dressage, jumping and groundwork clinic next month! We can't say enough about how transformational Kate's clinic was for our boarders and friends last year. Riding and auditing spots are available, please see the event below for more information.

A massive thank you to the Windsor Stables boarders for going above and beyond on this spring's barn cleanup day. I had to be out of town for a funeral and had tossed around the idea of rescheduling it, but they went ahead without me - deep cleaning everything, fixing gates, chainsawing fallen trees and rearranging the entire office/lounge to make it work for us better. You all are incredible people, and Windsor Stables wouldn't work without you!
