Estd. 1836 in Columbus, OH Louis Hoster founded his brewery in Columbus, OH in 1836. Hoster Gold Top became Columbus’ Lager.

With a great recipe and a lot of hard work he built the brewery into one of the largest in Ohio. Today, this great Columbus tradition is reborn, and Hoster beer once again flows from the taps of its native city.

Don't let our Business as Usual days fool you - there is nothing boring about a trip to our taproom. We have a variety of lagers, wheat beers and Belgian styles ready to quench your thirst as the temperatures start to pick up!

🪴🌱 On Sunday we're hosting a Plant Swap from 12-4 pm. Bring any extra seedlings, cuttings, or other plants that you no longer need, and pick up something new from someone else's garden. Chat with other plant lovers over a pint on our patio. All the plants are free!

🍻 And remember - Sunday is the last day to earn a Hoster stamp on the Columbus Ale Trail, since we are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

New Beer Alert!

Sommer is here in the taproomm and it sure is delicious! Our Rustic Rye Lager releases today. Sommer's rye malt and Noble hops combine to give it a nice depth of flavor and a satisfying spiciness. But it's still fairly light, at only 5% ABV and 30 IBUs.

🌱 We’re growing hops! Come out and encourage them. You’ve heard about talking to plants to keep them happy. Hops love it when you sweet-talk them over a pint of beer!

Andy planted two hop rhizomes on Monday (June 15): one Tettnang (a German Noble hop) and one Willamette (an American hop). We figure about two weeks until the shoots poke through the soil. After that, they’re rather fast growing.

Looks like the storms won’t come until late tonight, so we hope to see you on the patio at 4 PM today!

Welcome to another week at Hoster! We're hoping for beautiful patio weather to enjoy great beer in the sun!

On Friday we'll tap a Firkin of our new "Sommer" Rye Lager. This special edition is infused with mangoes and habanero peppers for some summer heat!

On Sunday we welcome gamers as usual, and offer $15 pitchers of our four core beers for players. Weather permitting, we'll bring out the Beer Pong tables. Play your favorite games inside or out!

⛑️ Someone is nursing a leg injury, so be sure to give him extra attention today during his taproom visit.

🐱 Mr. Biscuits hurt his left front leg playing too rough outside the other day. The vet checked it out and he's fine - just suffering a little indignity because they shaved the area.

😁 In any case, he's back at it and ready to see all his friends today from 12-5 pm!

🇨🇿 Today at 4 pm! Hoster's Czech-Tacular is our celebration of Czech beer styles, with two varieties poured from traditional Lukr side-pull faucets!

🦅 Eagle Dark - dark Czech lager featuring roasted malts and a hint of sweetness!
🍺 Bohemian Pilsner - pale, crisp lager brewed with a decoction mash and Saaz hops!

• Order a traditional Hladinka pour with a generous amount of sweet foam.
• Or try a Šnyt, equal parts beer and foam.
• For a special treat, have a Mlíko (milk pour) of all foam that you drink quickly!

🇨🇿 Tomorrow is Hoster's Czech-Tacular, our celebration of Czech beers, poured on traditional side-pull faucets that we brought back from the Lukr factory in Prague!

🍺🍺 Two Beers

3️⃣ Pour Types

We're releasing our small batch Bohemian Pilsner, brewed using a double-decoction mash.

We'll also have our fan favorite Eagle Dark, a Czech lager that's part of our Core beer line-up.

For a limited time, both of these beers will be poured into mugs using the side-pull faucets. This method creates copious amounts of smooth, creamy foam - just like you'd get in the Czech Republic!

🌭 Need some dogs to go with your brews? Great Glizzies Gourmet Hot Dogs has got you covered from 4-8 pm on Friday!
