Estd. 1836 in Columbus, OH Louis Hoster founded his brewery in Columbus, OH in 1836. Hoster Gold Top became Columbus’ L***r.

With a great recipe and a lot of hard work he built the brewery into one of the largest in Ohio. Today, this great Columbus tradition is reborn, and Hoster b**r once again flows from the taps of its native city.

Three weeks to go, friends. We're starting to get a little sentimental. Good thing we have some fun lined up for this week.

🍻 On Friday we release two b**rs aged in Rye Wh***ey barrels: Captivator Doppelbock, and Honey Rye Tripel. These are boozy and delicious and perfect for the cooler temps rolling in this weekend. It's also our big farewell to Head Brewer Andy Rich. 👋 Let's thank him for all the great b**rs! 🙏 We'll also have Uncle Will's Wagon slinging the eats from 4-9 pm.

🐱 Saturday is another farewell, this time for our brewery cat Mr. Biscuits. Join us for some catitude and more Uncle Will's Wagon goodies from 12-5 pm. We'll collect donations for Cat Welfare Association (they always need paper towels, Temptations Cat Treats, Purina Cat and Kitten Chow, and canned Purina cat food). We'll also wish Brewer Victor a Happy Belated Birthday 🎂 with a different sort of sing-a-long that you won't want to miss (hint: you won't actually need to sing). Victor isn't leaving us quite yet, but celebrating him on Caturday made sense since he is one of Mr. Biscuits' humans.

🎲 Sunday is our game day, so bring your own games or play from our selection, and drink $15 pitchers of core b**rs while you play.

What a busy week we had! While some of us were serving you at our Oktoberfest, Victor and Sandy were repping Hoster at the Great American B**r Festival (GABF) in Denver. Sadly, Hoster did not win any medals. But the team had a great time networking with breweries, judges, and attendees from all around the country. And Sandy was one of the 225 B**r Judges evaluating the 7,267 entries in the competition! 🍻

It's Oktoberfest week and we're going all out this year. Two days of celebration. Here's what to expect:

🍺 Two Oktoberfest b**rs - we'll keep the Märzen and the Festbier flowing as long as they last!

🏷️ New merch - a limited acrylic tacker, a Flying H pin, and Bavarian hats if you need one to display your pin.

OKT Day 1️⃣ (Friday):
4-8 pm - Tortilla Street Food truck
7 pm - Columbus Maennerchor performance
8-10 pm - Cigar and b**r pairing with Pipes & Pleasures (they'll have ci**rs and tools for sale)

OKT Day 2️⃣ (Saturday):
12-4 pm - House cooked brats in Gold Top l***r, plus all-beef hot dogs (veggie dogs available)
1-7 pm - Biergarten games throughout the day (stein hoist, b**r puppeteer, etc.)
5-9 pm - Machete taqueria food truck

♟️ If you're still with us by Sunday, it's our usual Board Game day. You can bring your own games or play ours, and players can get pitchers of our 4 core b**rs for $15.

👻 Visit Hoster's taproom for a final multi-day scavenger hunt. From October 28-31 we have a spooky, ghost-themed adventure throughout the hallowed halls of Hoster.

💀 Use one of our blacklight flashlights to decipher the clues and claim your reward. You have until the close of business on Halloween!

🏅 Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with gifts for all finishers. Go find those ghosts - BOO!

Please join us for one last Caturday with Mr. Biscuits on October 17th.

At long last, we will have St. Biscuits t-shirts for sale!

And Uncle Will's Wagon will feed you from 12-5 pm.

We’ll collect donations for Cat Welfare Association. Here are the things needed at the shelter:

- Paper towels
- Temptations treats
- Purina Kitten Chow and Cat Chow
- Purina canned food - poultry and beef varieties preferred

Rest assured, Mr. Biscuits will continue to be well looked after by Victor and Laura. We have it on good authority that he’s spoiled, dining on premium cat food from Wegman’s, which is muled across the state line. He has also honed his hunting game in Circleville, usually eating the poor birds and mice that he catches, and sometimes leaving trophies for his humans.

And since we’re farewelling Biscuits, we’ll also use this event to thank Victor for his time brewing for us. Victor was the Head Brewer when we opened up on James Road. While he stepped back from full-time brewing, he’s remained a vital member of the team. Wish Victor a Happy Belated Birthday (it was last week) and a hearty Thank You for the great b**r (especially the Czech styles)!
