Nathan put together a video on Monday. Our snow has finally melted so we’re excited for warm weather and new growth outside! Also geranium starts and lettuce in the old greenhouse, and a peek in the new one.

We got four adorable surprises today! Apparently this is what happens when you have six roosters and 30-some hens who don’t stay in their fence. 🤷‍♀️ They all have round fuzz on their heads, just like Mama did when she was that size.

Yesterday was Loki’s 2nd birthday. It’s hard to imagine the world without our fierce, funny, friendly little farm dog. So glad to have him in our lives!

Today we harvested one of the lavender beds. Nearly every plant had a praying mantis in it, and sometimes they’re hard to see in the green plants. I think this is the first time I’ve seen a brown mantis.

I lifted the cucumber vines today, and was surprised to find a dozen picklers ready to be harvested!

Our little farm dog doesn’t spend much time sitting still, but we just got home from a few days camping with family, and we’re all exhausted! He was happy to supervise while his people harvested lemon balm.

Almost there! This is a Jaune Flamme tomato, a new variety for us this year. When ripe they are the size and color of an apricot.

Our cute little kitten has turned into a teenager! She spends every night outside, doing who knows what, then literally sleeps all day long on my bed. And this face. Only a teenager can convey so much in a look! 😂

The scapes (and weeds!) have all been removed from the garlic, with the goal of bigger heads of garlic. I love scapes, partly because they’re only fresh for a little while.

Our fierce little farm dog tried to impale himself on something Sunday afternoon, which resulted in surgery to repair a hernia, and an overnight stay at the vet clinic. Thus the three happy faces when we were able to bring him home! He’s going to be sore for a while, and for now he’s sleeping a lot, which makes it easier to keep him from running around more than he should.

We’ve had rain, thunder, and lightning during the last two nights (boy did we ever get rain last night!) but these rainbows appeared before the storm on Sunday evening.
