Lewis Farm Concord Family farm founded in 1830 with a farm stand, bees, vegetables, Christmas trees, and compost operation. Lanes on the farm are not paved or plowed.

We accept compostable materials and sell finished compost. We are a family ­owned farm less than 3 miles from the center of Concord, NH near Route 89 and the Bow town line on Silk Farm Road. James Meinecke and Becky McWilliams took over the Lewis Farm and committed to work as the next generation of family farmers on the farm. We are a NH Farm specialized in compost and other landscape materials. In addition to yard waste, we also accept stone, soil, brick, concrete (no rebar), stumps, logs, wood chips.

WE ARE NO LONGER OFFERING YEARLY MATERIALS DROP OFF PASSES. Compost Fields are open for business as weather allows – ON A PAY PER DROP BASIS. WE ACCEPT: Yard Waste, Dirt, Rock, Wood Chips, Manure, organic materials, etc. WE DO NOT ACCEPT: Metal, Plastic, Household Waste, Construction Debris, Treated Lumber, Nails, Screws, or Septage. Pass at your own risk. April – October 7am – 6pm

November – March 7am – 3pm

Single Axle Dump Trailer – $50 per visit

Full moon and all it portends on Saturday.

The Harvest Moon rises this Saturday, September 26 bringing one of autumn’s most iconic sights back to the evening sky. 🌕🌟

Reaching full phase at 12:49 p.m. EDT, this will be the 2026 Harvest Moon, the Full Moon closest to the Northern Hemisphere’s autumn equinox.

Its name carries centuries of tradition, but there’s real astronomy behind the story. Around the Harvest Moon, the Moon’s path meets the horizon at a shallow angle for northern observers, producing relatively short gaps between successive evening moonrises.

That meant more moonlight after sunset during the traditional harvest season long before electric lights transformed the night.

On Saturday evening, watch the eastern horizon as September’s golden Full Moon rises above the autumn landscape.
