As I was looking at the March Madness sale catalog in the late winter of 2012 I saw Sharon & Tim Abbott were offering a DestryxTri Day Ashlyn choice of Dec calves.
I thought that it would be kinda cool to develop a red branch of Ashlyn. I did my home work and there were tested Rc calves on the ground.
Sale day came and 1st choice sold
I chased hard however she sold a little over my budget.Then a smiling Chris Hill and Tim Abbott in the box announced they were going to sell 2nd choice, this time I successfully made the purchase.
When I told Ryan about my purchase and plan he said Hell yeah I want in on that!
After the 1st choice was made and the calves came from Wisconsin to Abbott’s in Vermont we took a ride up to make our selection.what a nice group of Dec calves ,finally we got it narrowed down to 2 however one of them awould not leave us alone a trait she transmitted also, so tag #246 came back to Penacook NH
Anya was a really nice heifer built to be a cow and that she did.The impact she has had on our herd matches an earlier matriarch of ours.
