As I was looking at the March Madness sale catalog in the late winter of 2012 I saw Sharon & Tim Abbott were offering a DestryxTri Day Ashlyn choice of Dec calves.
I thought that it would be kinda cool to develop a red branch of Ashlyn. I did my home work and there were tested Rc calves on the ground.
Sale day came and 1st choice sold
I chased hard however she sold a little over my budget.Then a smiling Chris Hill and Tim Abbott in the box announced they were going to sell 2nd choice, this time I successfully made the purchase.
When I told Ryan about my purchase and plan he said Hell yeah I want in on that!
After the 1st choice was made and the calves came from Wisconsin to Abbott’s in Vermont we took a ride up to make our selection.what a nice group of Dec calves ,finally we got it narrowed down to 2 however one of them awould not leave us alone a trait she transmitted also, so tag #246 came back to Penacook NH
Anya was a really nice heifer built to be a cow and that she did.The impact she has had on our herd matches an earlier matriarch of ours.

Pictures are back! From the northeast all breed spring show at the big e.We took 6 cows and had a nice group of 6 tie ins.
We were again honored to receive premier breeder of the R&W show.
Thank you to the other exhibitors who purchased and showed Morrill bred animals that made this possible.

We have our composted manure available again this spring. $8 per bag $40 per yard picked up at the farm. We are open Saturday’s 9-12 and Thursday’s 3-5:30

Spring has arrived, and that means farmers are doing everything we can to make the most of the weather and get fields ready for the season ahead. Plowing, discing, rolling, planting — when conditions are right, every hour counts. ⌚️

We know tractors and equipment on the road can slow traffic down, and we understand it can be frustrating. Please know our goal is never to inconvenience anyone. We’re simply working with Mother Nature’s 🌬️ schedule to get the job done and keep food to feed the world.

As you see us moving from field to field this spring, please be patient and use extra caution when passing or pulling out in front of farm equipment. These machines often need extra room to maneuver and more time to safely turn or stop.

We all want the same thing — for everyone to make it home safely to their families tonight. 🙏

When the Dans were out selecting we were more than happy to a send a really nice red fall calf to the otsego county 4-H dairy club calf sale.selling Saturday April 11 in conjunction with Hoskings spring premier all breed sale.
4-H club sale calves start things off@10:30 either live or on cowbuyer.
What an opportunity to create your own project cow family.
