🐰 Looking for a Cheap Rabbit? Read This First!

You can find rabbits at auctions for a low price, but remember: a cheap rabbit doesn’t always mean a good deal.

When you buy a rabbit at auction, you may know very little about its history, including:

🐰 True age — Is it really as young or old as advertised?

🧬 Genetics and pedigree — Do you know its lineage, or whether it comes from a reputable breeding program?

❤️ Temperament — Is it friendly, well-socialized, nervous, or aggressive?

🩺 Health history — Has it received proper care? Could it be carrying an illness or parasites?

🏡 Previous living conditions — Was it handled regularly? Was it properly housed and cared for?

A low purchase price can sometimes lead to unexpected veterinary bills, behavioral challenges, or other expenses.

At Lenhaven Homestead, we believe that a rabbit is more than a price tag. Responsible rabbit ownership means knowing what you can about the animal you’re bringing home and being prepared to care for it throughout its life.

💚 Don’t just shop for the cheapest rabbit. Look for the right rabbit for you.

Here I have a beautiful Netherland dwarf doe, she is almost 11 weeks and still very small. She was reserved but the person back out last minute. She will stay small and I do not recommend breeding her. I want her to go to as home pet. She is not free. She has the sweetest temper and a pedigree that backs her up. Next to her is her brother and they both are super small. He is also available. Sent me a message only if you are truly interested.

I need help finding this Dutch boy a home. The owner reached out to me because she can no longer care for him. This buck is in York SC. I cannot take him in at this moment but really would love to help her find him a home. He is 4 not neutered.

🐰 RABBITS ARE A LIFETIME COMMITMENT!!

Rabbits are not disposable pets. They require daily care, fresh hay, clean water, proper nutrition, safe housing, regular cleaning, and veterinary care.

A rabbit can live 8–12 years or even longer, depending on its health and care. That means bringing one home is a commitment that can last for many years.

Before purchasing a rabbit, please consider:

❤️ Do you have the time to care for it every day?

🏡 Do you have a safe, spacious place for it to live?

💰 Can you afford food, supplies, and veterinary expenses?

👨‍👩‍👧 Is your family prepared to care for it throughout its life?

Please don’t buy a rabbit on impulse or because it’s cute for Easter. Rabbits grow up, needs change, and responsibilities remain.

A rabbit is a life you are responsible for, not a toy you can return when you’re tired of it.

These babies are ready for their new home. They are super sweet and calm temper. One Silver marten doe 5 months old, Chinchilla doe is 10 weeks,. Please send me a private message only if you are serious about getting one and also please do research, bunnies are not cheap and not cheap to maintain. They do require time and patience.
