In case you missed it, Sazerac Rye 100 Proof landed at Concordia Liquor Outlet and we’re in love 😍

The name "Sazerac" actually comes from a brand of French cognac. Back in the mid-1800s, a New Orleans bar called the Sazerac Coffee House served cocktails made with that cognac and the cocktail eventually took the bar's name. It wasn't until the 1870s, when a w**e blight wiped out cognac supply, that rye wh***ey stepped in and became the new standard.

The 100 proof version isn't just a stronger pour - it changes the drink. More rye spice and pepper up front, a bolder caramel and oak finish that holds up better against the sugar and bitters in a Sazerac cocktail.

New on the shelf: Penelope Classic Series Rye & Buzzard’s Roost Double Oak

🥃 Penelope Classic Series Rye
This Rye keeps it simple - there’s no age statement but rumor has it there’s some real age hiding in here. Nose of spearmint and citrus then barrel char squares off with wintergreen and clove on the palate. Bold, a little unexpected, priced right.

🥃 Buzzard’s Roost Signature Double Oak Bourbon
Made by Jason Brauner, the Louisville bar guy behind Bourbon’s Bistro who decided to start making the stuff instead of just pouring it. The move is double oaking - aged in new American oak, then finished in Buzzard’s own proprietary bourbon barrels for extra depth. Toasted pecan and cinnamon on the nose, vanilla and ginger on the palate, finishing warm on cinnamon and brown sugar. Reviewers call it a “confident, well-rounded sipper.”
