Some of our golf-savvy team members had the pleasure of attending Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue Classic Golf Tournament this week. The Bi-Annual tournament, held at Loch Lloyd Country Club, benefits the City Union Mission in Kansas City. Not only were our golf skills showcased, so was our new name and branding!

Last Friday afternoon at our Concordia, MO facility, we had the pleasure of hosting a picnic for our employees and their families. We roasted a whole hog (always a crowd-pleaser!), enjoyed the beautiful weather, then invited the families inside for a tour of the plant. We look forward to more opportunities to show appreciation to our team of dedicated and exceptional employees!

We are proud to work with partners like Operation BBQ Relief, who are providing thousands of hot meals and support for those effected by flooding in eastern Kentucky.

One disaster relief group is set up in Hazard handing out thousands of hot meals to families across the region.

Old World Spices is grateful for the opportunity to support one of our retailers, Scheels Outdoors, in their second annual BBQ University. BBQ Spot brought in 5 of the all-star cast of 21 pitmasters from across the country to lead teams of Scheel's employees in some hands-on BBQ training. They also received training and sampling over the line of BBQ Spot products, and they are ready to head back out to the stores and help their customers with all things BBQ!

BBQ brings people together. Sometimes it’s just a few friends and neighbors. And sometimes it brings an entire community to the table.

Thank you to News4 for the coverage of the BBQ bash held in Ponca City, where the Head family of Head Country handed out 5,000 plates of BBQ—with plenty of sauce, of course.

Community service has been a long tradition at Head Country Bar-B-Q. We’re proud to say that, thanks to the hard work and commitment of our teams, it’s still going strong.

We’re heading into 4th of July weekend, and the party has already kicked off in Ponca City.

Old World Spices was proud to be a sponsor of the inaugural Made For KC BBQ Championship, hosted at Worth Harley-Davidson! There were 36 local Kansas City area teams selected to compete for the title, but Black Magic BBQ came out on top and was named the first ever Grand Champion. On top of the $25,000 payout, they will also receive a one-year licensing opportunity to be featured in the competition-barbecue themed restaurant at the new Kansas City International Airport terminal, opening early 2023. Black Magic BBQ’s name and award-winning recipes will be featured on the restaurant’s menu for the first year of business, until the next year’s winner takes over that tittle.
The first-year event was an overwhelming success and we can't wait for visitors to taste some authentic Kansas City BBQ right when they step off the plane! Thanks to the OHM Concession group, and all the other sponsors for making it possible.
