Now selling wheat berries at David’s Pasture!

We’re excited to offer certified organic wheat berries from 180 Farms in Sweet Springs, Missouri, a family-owned farm not far from us!

Our family has been milling our own wheat using 180 Farms’ wheat berries for years, and we love it. Once you’ve tasted homemade bread made with freshly milled flour, it’s hard to go back!

If you’ve never tried milling your own wheat, it’s worth looking into. Freshly milled flour brings wonderful flavor to homemade bread, and has so many health benefits of using the whole grain, fresh and never processed/ changed for shelf life storage.

We’re happy to make these wheat berries available to our customers, too!

We’d love to have you out to the farm!

David’s Pasture Farm Tour — October 10 at 2 PM

Join us for a fall afternoon at David’s Pasture! We’re opening up the farm for a tour on October 10 at 2 PM, and we’d love for you and your family to come.

You’ll get to see the animals we currently have on the farm, including our cows, chickens, and turkeys, and get a behind-the-scenes look at what happens here at David’s Pasture.

And of course, there will be food! We’ll have samples featuring David’s Pasture meat, bread made with wheat berries from 180 Farms, dessert made with honey from Living Water Homestead, and coffee from Gospel Coffee.

Tickets are FREE, but please RSVP by October 7th to reserve your spot. Space is limited, and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You can RSVP by simply emailing [email protected] with your first and last name and how many people you plan to bring with you.

And as a thank-you for coming, everything you purchase at the farm tour will be 10% off! See you then!

There’s just something beautiful about a morning on the farm. 💚

Green grass, happy animals, a dog running alongside the truck, and our chicken houses moving to fresh pasture for the day.

After all those 100° days of working and sweating together, (seen in following video/pics after the first pasture video) we are especially thankful for this beautiful fall weather! It feels so good to step outside and enjoy cool mornings, green grass, and a little more breathing room. 🍂

The chickens are doing great out on pasture, and those turkeys are getting BIG! They are lively, curious, and enjoying every bit of their time outside.

And we’re thankful for the rain this morning, too, and the green grass it’s giving us!

We gave a farm tour this morning!

We currently have about 1,000 chicks in the brooder, which is the setup you can see us looking into in the picture! In addition to the chicks, we also have turkeys already out in the field.

🦃 Look who’s growing! 🦃

Our turkeys have been out on pasture for almost 2 weeks now, and they are doing GREAT! We recently moved them onto fresh grass, and they are loving all the room to roam, sunshine, and opportunities to forage.

We thought it would be fun to show you their growth so far!

📸 The last pictures are from when they arrived at just one day old.

📸 Then, just 11 days later, we moved them out onto pasture. That’s them in the pasture in the next pictures!

📸 The most recent pictures show them now, just over a few weeks old. It’s amazing how quickly these little birds grow—and we love seeing how healthy and active they are!

They spend their days out on pasture with plenty of sunshine, fresh grass, and bugs and other things to forage, along with non-GMO feed to supplement what they find naturally.

And these turkeys aren’t just beautiful—they’re surprisingly intelligent and curious animals. We genuinely enjoy raising them and watching their personalities come out as they grow.

They’re getting a pretty great start to life, and we’re excited to see what the next few months bring!

We can’t wait to share their journey with you as they grow into the beautiful Thanksgiving turkeys they’re becoming!

Fifteen beautiful new steers joined the herd this week from a local breeder of grass fed genetics!

Every calf is raised on pasture from the very beginning. And these guys are doing great grazing right alongside the rest of the herd. When they’re moved to a fresh paddock, they’re doing more than enjoying new grass.

Their grazing encourages healthy new growth, their manure naturally returns nutrients to the soil, and their hooves help work organic matter back into the ground. Then that pasture gets time to rest before the cows return.

It’s a simple rhythm we’ve built our farm around—healthy land growing healthy grass, and healthy grass raising healthy cattle.
