We brought back a little space just for our younger visitors somewhere they can hang out, get creative, color, draw, read, and just be kids while you’re here. ♥️

There are coloring supplies, books, and plenty of room for little imaginations to do their thing.

Because The Plot Twist has always been about more than just stopping in and grabbing something. So bring them along , their little corner is ready for them again! 📖🖍️✨

Tomorrow, we’re doing something a little different at The Plot Twist. 🦋📚

Like so many of you, I was incredibly sad to hear about the passing of Dolly Parton today.

Of course we know Dolly for the music, the rhinestones, the hair and that unmistakable voice. But there’s another piece of her legacy that feels especially important to us here.

She gave children books.

In 1995, Dolly started the Imagination Library, inspired by her father, who couldn’t read or write. What began in her little corner of Tennessee grew into a program that has put hundreds of millions of books into the hands of children around the world. Children receive books completely free from birth until age five because Dolly believed a child’s ability to fall in love with reading shouldn’t depend on how much money their family has. 📚

If you’ve been following what we’ve been doing here lately, you probably understand why that one hits me particularly hard.

So tomorrow, we’re going to honor Dolly in the most Plot Twist way I know how.

Every child who walks through our doors tomorrow is invited to choose a book from our Little Free Library and take it home.

No purchase necessary.
You don’t have to bring anything.
Just come choose a book. ❤️

And if you’re an adult who wants one too? Take the dang book. Dolly wouldn’t want me gatekeeping the bookshelf. 😂

Read it. Share it. Pass it along someday if you’d like.

Tomorrow we’ll turn the music up, play a whole lot of Dolly, and celebrate a woman who showed the world that doing good doesn’t always have to be complicated.

Sometimes you just put a book in someone’s hands.

I realized we have quite a few new people following the page lately, so I figured it might be a good time to reintroduce myself and The Plot Twist Co.! 🖤

I’m Shan! I opened The Plot Twist because I wanted to create a little space that was different from anything else we had around here.

We have fun drinks, breakfast toasts, sandwiches, mini pancakes and other goodies, but the shop has slowly turned into so much more than that.

If you haven’t been in yet, we have lots of comfy places to sit, hang out, read, meet up with a friend or just spend some time by yourself.

We’re also officially part of the Little Free Library, which I’m SO excited about. Our books are completely free to take, and you’re welcome to bring books back or donate ones you’re finished with. I really want reading to be something everyone has access to, without having to worry about how much it’s going to cost. The only books we actually sell in the shop are from local authors, and I’m hoping to continue adding more of them!

We also do Book Bingo, storytimes, reading nights and other little events throughout the year.

Basically, The Plot Twist is one of those places that makes a lot more sense once you actually walk through the door. 😂 You can come in and order something, or you can grab a free book and curl up somewhere. Stay for ten minutes or stay for two hours. You’re welcome either way.

The Plot Twist Co. is officially a **REGISTERED LITTLE FREE LIBRARY® and we are officially ON THE MAP!** 🥹

I truly believe everyone should have access to books. Reading shouldn't have to be something you skip because buying a new book just isn't in the budget that week.

So from now on, when you walk into The Plot Twist, you'll find our **Little Free Library right inside the shop.**

📖 Take a book.
📖 Leave a book.
📖 Trade a book.
📖 Or just take one because you need something new to read.

**You do NOT have to bring a book to take a book. You do NOT have to purchase anything.** Come in, browse the shelves, grab a story, find a comfy spot and read for a while if you'd like. That's what it's here for.

And there's another part of this that I'm really excited about…

While our Little Free Library will keep books accessible to our community, the books we **do** sell inside The Plot Twist will be dedicated to **LOCAL AUTHORS.** ❤️ I want our shelves to give writers from our area a place to be discovered, supported and celebrated.

I wanted The Plot Twist to become more than somewhere you stop in and buy something. I want it to be a little place in our community where people can slow down, find a story, feel welcome and maybe discover a new favorite author along the way.
