If you’re looking for a cowy mare with personality )I didn’t say a nice one) grit, and a proven ability to be a great mama, here she is!
This 14-hand sorrel mare is a broodmare through and through. She is an excellent mother, easy to breed, and knows exactly how to raise a baby.
Now for the full disclaimer, because we believe in being completely upfront about our horses. 😂
She is hateful and she is NOT for everyone. She needs someone who understands mares like her and knows how to handle one with plenty of attitude. You respect her, and she will respect you. She is the true definition of a range mare. Notice the knots in her mane? They have been there the entire time we have owned her because she will not let you brush them out.
She has had a foal every year we have owned her which is five years and before she always carried each year.
A few things you need to know:
She is not easy to catch. Once you catch her, she will lead and stands tied.
She loads easily.
She has to be sedated to have her hooves trimmed.
She has plenty of attitude and needs an experienced handler.
She is a GREAT mama.
She is easy to breed.
She is open this year through no fault of her own. We simply didn't get around to breeding several of our mares back this season.
And yes, she is currently thin, we just pulled her c**t off of her.
She isn't going to be the mare that runs to the gate looking for scratches, and I'm not going to sugarcoat what she is. But as a broodmare, she does her job and does it well. If you understand how to handle and respect a mare like her, she will respect you in return.
