I have learned on this journey that life in the rabbitry comes with a lot of different personalities, I’ll gladly put up with sassy thumps, dramatic flops, and demanding nose-nudges, but there is one line I do not cross: unprovoked aggression among litter mates and to me.

Usually, 99% of the rabbits here are sweet, manageable, and a joy to handle. I have noticed the last couple of days there have been some bites on the rabbits in the grow out cage and today I met that 1%. After taking an unprovoked bite and multiple scratches today, this guy officially earned a one-way ticket out of my barn. I am in the rabbit cages daily, so having. A rabbit that won't even let me do an evaluation is a no go.

I work hard to keep a calm, safe environment for myself and my herd, and mean temperaments just don't have a place here. Culling for temperament is just as important as culling for health and structure! 🐰❌🖐️

We love the new solar fans we installed in the grow out section, but the shade is their kryptonite. Having a shaded yard is a mixed blessing! Maybe next year we will put them on a battery bank.

How we made our roll down to quickly secure for severe weather. We have made some adjustments such as moving the camo tarp to the back and putting up waterproof canvas ones at the front.
