The Senate could vote at any time, and the future of legal h**p products may be decided today.
This is the most urgent moment we’ve faced. We need every h**p supporter to take action immediately.
Senator Tedd Budd (R-NC) is offering an amendment that would remove the h**p extension from the Continuing Resolution, putting the industry back on track for a sweeping federal h**p ban scheduled to take effect on November 12.
Supporters of the proposal have argued that consumers would still have access to non-intoxicating CBD products under the ban.
That simply isn’t true.
We’ve released a new CBD Fact Sheet explaining why the proposed 0.4 mg THC per container standard would eliminate the vast majority of today’s h**p-derived CBD products, including many full-spectrum products relied upon by veterans, seniors, and millions of responsible consumers. The fact sheet also summarizes the latest research, economic analysis, and examples of nationally recognized CBD brands that would no longer qualify for sale under the proposal.
At the same time, we’re round to be among the 102 national and state organizationsrepresenting retailers, restaurants, convenience stores, beverage companies, agricultural organizations, veterans, patient advocates, and h**p businesses that sent a letter to Senate leadership yesterday urging lawmakers to preserve the h**p extension in the Continuing Resolution while Congress completes work on a responsible long-term regulatory framework.
Please take a few minutes to review these resources and, most importantly, contact your Senators immediately. Even if you sent a message yesterday or the day before, every message counts!
