🍎 FRUIT STAND UPDATE! 🍐

We’ve picked the rest of our Pixie, Mac, Honeycrisp, and Golden Delicious apples and they’re all tucked away in the refrigerator!

👉 What’s in the fridge is what we have left of these varieties, so if you’ve been waiting for any of them, come grab them while they last!

We also have LOTS of Cortlands in the fridge, with more still coming along, plus Granny Smiths on the way. 🍏

🍐 Pears: We have a few bags of Harrow Crisp pears left, and our Cold Snap pears will be ready soon!

It’s a perfect fall-weather day to stop by the farmstand! Our pears are ripe and ready, and we have three delicious varieties for you to try.

All three have a mild, sweet flavor!

One of our favorite parts of growing our own orchard is growing varieties you may not see at the grocery store!

We’ve put out a table of testers featuring some of the lesser-known varieties we grow. Stop by, grab a sample, and see if you find a new favorite!

Here’s what we have at the stand this weekend:

• Luscious — mild flavor
• Harrow Crisp — mild, similar to a Bartlett
• Russian Tart — bright, citrus-like flavor

🍎 Our Farm Stand Grand Opening is THIS Saturday! 🍐

We’re so excited to officially open the Trout River Orchard farm stand on Saturday, September 5th!

We’ll be stocked with:
🍐 Fresh pears
🍎 Pixie Crunch apples
🍎 Honeycrisp apples
🍎 Macintosh apples
🧄 Fresh local garlic from Garlic Garage in Moira
🍁 Maple syrup from Tatro’s Maple Syrup

Starting Saturday, the stand will be open 7 days a week from 9 AM–6 PM and will be self-serve, making it easy to stop by whenever it works for you.

We’ll be sharing updates right here on Facebook about what’s available throughout the season. Keep an eye out because we’ll soon have fresh baked goods available at the stand, too! 🥧🍪

And who better to give you a little tour than our smallest orchard helpers? ❤️🍎 Our grandchildren are already learning that there’s a lot of fun (and probably a little work 😉) that goes into growing and sharing what comes from the orchard.

For the past few years, we’ve loved sharing our fruit with you right from our garage and we’re excited to announce that we’re expanding into our new farmstand building!

This new space will make it easier for our customers to stop by, shop, and enjoy what we have to offer!

We’re currently finishing the inside and adding the final touches before we open the doors. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Have you ever wondered what the blossoms on each type of fruit tree look like before harvest season begins? 🌸🍎🍒🍑

As the orchard wakes up for a new season, we wanted to share a closer look at the beautiful blooms that come before the fruit. Each tree blossoms a little differently from apples and pears to peaches, plums, cherry plums, and cherries.

This year’s lineup:
🍎 Apple
🍒 Tart Cherry
🍐 Pear
🍑 Peach
🟣 Plum
🌸 Cherry Plum

Our very first tart cherry harvest of the season is expected to begin in early July, so stay tuned for picking updates, fresh fruit announcements, and plenty more orchard moments ahead!
