There may be snow on the ground, but spring is right around the corner, and here at the farm, we are making preparations for this years pigs.

We made a trip up north today to the Fortuna/Versailles area to pick up 1,000 lbs of non-gmo pig feed from LNS Feed. Tomorrow, we will be making the drive to the Cole Camp area to pick up 16 little pigs! 🐷

👀 Be on the lookout; we will be sending messages to those on the waiting list for whole and ½ pigs. If you are interested in a whole or ½ pig for this fall processing comment below or message the page.

We hope you all have a blessed and warm weekend!

We are boiling again today! Almost done with the 30 gallons we collected yesterday. Still have another 30 or 40 in the woods to collect tomorrow. To say it is a little warm in the sugar shack is an understatement. Our thermometer on the wall opposite our stove is pegged out at over 120° and the kids left some crayon in the shack and they are melting. 😬

The walnut trees are loving the Missouri weather this week. Full sun and in the 40s and 50s during the daytime, and below freezing at night. We will be spending the next few days boiling sap down to syrup and bottle. Be on the lookout for our photos and videos of the process.

Happy Thursday!

The wind hasn't been nice to our little building. This is where we make our walnut syrup. So we took advantage of the building being temporarily relocated.

We cleaned up all the old wood we had as flooring put down some gravel and put the building back on it. Set the evaporater up and we are running some water and enjoying being out of the house.

Haven't posted much lately. Been very eventful and crazy busy around here. Our old Ford finally laid down. Replaced it with a 2000 dodge 2500. Kelli's mom purchased some property in niangua so we have been working on making preparations to move in a mobile home. Shout out to JD Geneti for the clearing and prep work he was able to get done. I finished cutting the driveway and we have been hauling gravel. Had to remove 2 porches off of the house before it can be moved. We also baled 300 squares for a new customer in fair grove.

Starting early this morning. Brush hogging for a neighbor.

We don't share alot from other pages but these guys have it right. It's a sacrifice for tomorrow. It's knowing the work you do today will benefit you down the road.

Next time you say "must be nice" you might want to understand what it takes!

8-5 won’t get you here.
Parking on the couch to watch TV won’t make it.
Sleeping in on Saturdays won’t make it.
Calling in when sick won’t make it.
Being content with where we're at won’t make it.

It came from 15-20 hour days.
It came from beating the sun up.
It came from working on weekends.
It came from sacrificing what I wanted now for what I wanted most.
It came from wanting a little better tomorrow.

These are a few things to consider before you throw out "must be nice" at someone! We are all products of our habits. And extra efforts are what make the biggest differences at the end of the day! #Farmlife #workethic

Fixing baler belts again. Not our baler this time lol. We have the tooling to repair 7in gator splices. I can generally do it without taking the belt all the way out. I'm working on tooling for clipper laces an wider gator belts.
