Meet Lambquisha.
She’s the youngest doeling of our purebred Nigerian Dwarf goat herd, at just over 7 months old. The first picture was taken before we left for thanksgiving break, and the last was when we returned to find that she had put on her winter coat.

Nigerian Dwarf goats grow a thick, 2-layer insulating winter coat that allows them to tolerate cold climates. The undercoat is the first layer, which is a soft, downy layer of cashmere that’s an excellent natural insulator. The hair fibers trap warm air close to their body, which keeps them warm even in sun-zero temps, and is why they appear “fluffy” in the winter. The outer coat has coarser hair with natural oils to create a water-resistant layer that repels snow and moisture and keeps the undercoat dry.

Cukes are coming on! This morning I harvested some of our Organic Muncher (Burpless) Cucumbers from one of our garden locations.

Harvested our organic garlic today! We grew California Early and Inchelium Red varieties this year. They will make some great fermented garlic honey! DM us to get a jar!
