Life has a funny way of changing your plans.

I thought I’d be known as the health coach sitting behind a desk. Instead, most people around town know me as “the cookie lady.”

Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.

This journey has introduced me to incredible people, taught me lessons I never expected, and reminded me that sometimes the path you didn’t choose becomes the one you’re meant to walk.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably noticed something.

For the longest time, my posts were mostly, “Come buy my cookies.”

And while I still hope you do 😊, I realized there’s a bigger story to tell.

Better Butter Cookie Company isn’t just about cookies. It’s about starting over, adapting, staying true to my convictions, and figuring out how to build a business that actually fits the life I want to live.

When I started keeping the Sabbath, I had to rethink almost everything about my business. It wasn’t easy, but I believe it made me a better business owner.

So if it feels like I’m sharing more of the journey these days, it’s because I finally realized people aren’t just buying cookies.

They’re joining me on the journey.

Maybe I’m old-fashioned… and I’m okay with that. ❤️

When I think about cookies, I don’t think about piling on every candy in the pantry.

I think about opening Grandma’s cookie jar.

It’s funny.

I spent years helping people build healthier habits. Meal plans. Food journals. Better choices.

And what I learned is that change is hard.

People don’t always crave vegetables. They don’t always stick to the plan.

But a warm cookie?

A cookie reminds people of grandma’s kitchen. Family gatherings. Simpler days.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I could bring people joy one cookie at a time.

So I traded meal plans for mixing bowls.

And somehow became the cookie lady.

Life has a funny way of working out.

Well… you leave with a cardboard gentleman you’ve never met.

I have no idea who this distinguished-looking fellow is, but after spending five minutes with him, I feel like he silently judged my life choices and approved of my cookies.

He didn’t say much.

Mostly because he’s made of cardboard.

Unfortunately, he can’t eat cookies.

Today I stepped WAY outside my comfort zone and delivered 5 complimentary cookie sample bags to businesses around Cookeville.

Was I nervous? Yes.
Did I almost talk myself out of it? Also yes.
Did I do it anyway? You already know.

Last week, several people asked for the mini cookies.

The problem?

They got there too late. 😬

I sold out.

The only reason I have Mini Butter Bliss and Mini Chocolate Chip Bliss available this week is because I finished Miss Sally’s order today and had enough cookies left to make a limited number of extra bags.

Once these are gone, they’ll likely be gone until Miss Sally’s next order rolls around.

Sometimes growth looks messy before it looks like progress.

Today I finally let the juvenile chickens out with the big girls. There was some chasing, a little pecking, and a few moments where I wondered if I’d made a mistake.

Funny thing is, building a business feels a lot like that.

New ideas. New products. New opportunities. New levels.

They usually come with a little chaos before they become normal.

The babies were fine. The big girls settled down. Everybody found their place.

I’d call that a win. 🐔
