Apple picking season is now underway!
Although the Apple crop isn’t overly plentiful as previous years due to a tough Spring freeze that destroyed a goodly portion of the crop, apples are available in the orchard for picking and/or in the store for your selection. Currently, we are spot picking a few varieties such as Honeycrisp, Blondie, Zestar etc. with more to come.
Everbearing raspberries are just starting to come in.
Pumpkins, winter squash and grapes are now available.
Join us in the orchard for cider donuts, sparkling cider, jams, jellies, baked goods, sweet corn, tomatoes and other various vegetables.

We are excited to announce that Middlefield Orchard is hiring! We are looking for enthusiastic workers to help us in the upcoming season.

Duties:
- assist in our store and provide customer service
- drive to local markets and sell our local produce
- engage in outside work to maintain our beautiful and productive orchard

U-pick Strawberry and pea season will be closed AFTER this coming Saturday, July 11th 2026 for field renovation in preparation for next years harvest. In the meantime there are still strawberries and peas to be picked in those fields. The pic was taken at 10 am Friday, July 10th.

U-pick raspberries and blueberries are currently available for picking. U-pick green beans are about a week away.

Strawberry fields are going to remain open until the Malwina strawberries come in within a week or so then the fields will be closed and renovated. This pic was taken at 4:45 pm today, Friday June 26th. Strawberries are still available.

U-Pick peas are ready for picking at $2.50/lb for both sugar snap and shell peas. U-Pick beans aren’t too far behind.

U-Pick Raspberry season opens the first full week of July and U-Pick blueberry season starts mid-July.

UPICK STRAWBERRY FIELD CLOSED TOMORROW SATURDAY 6/20

Thank you to everyone who came out for our opening day! We appreciate your support! Our fields have been picked clean and need a couple days of rest. We plan to reopen the field Monday 6/22. Watch our page for updates. We will have strawberries at our Cooperstown and Oneonta markets tomorrow. And our store will remain open tomorrow as well! Due to limited crop and high demand we will not be selling pre picked berries in large quantities. We look forward to seeing you! 🍓

The orchard is opening for the 2026 U-Pick strawberry season on Friday, June 19th from 9 am to 5 pm. By early/mid July the U-Pick raspberry season will begin, followed by blueberry season and apple season by mid-August. Please be mindful that although the farm is open Monday through Saturday (9-5), the orchard is closed every Sunday.

Currently we are spot picking strawberries and will be selling them in both the Cooperstown and Oneonta Public Market tomorrow, Saturday, June 13th. On Wednesday, June 17th, we will be in the Delhi market with fresh picked strawberries. There is nothing like tasting fresh local juicy strawberries after a long drought and harsh winter.

Fresh local produce is a main attraction both in the orchard and in our farmers markets.

Strawberry season is coming upon us soon. The weather this Spring has not been kind to the strawberry crop. A few weeks ago the 28 degree temperature wiped out our early variety.
We are currently estimating UPick should start around the 18th/20th of June but will confirm on Facebook as we know for sure. Thank you for your continuing support and concern.
