🫐 U-pick season is officially closed 🫐

This year's season was much shorter than usual, but we are so grateful to everyone who came out to pick berries and spend time on our farm. Your smiles, kind words, and continued support mean so much to us. We hope to see you next year around mid-July!

Frequently asked questions:

1. When is blueberry season?
It varies. Usually early-mid July through early August. We anticipate being open for u-pick this week (7/20) and hopefully next week, too.

2. When is raspberry season?
It also varies. Usually 2-3 weeks in July. Raspberries are now open during our regular u-pick hours until we run out! *Come soon if you want raspberries, they may only last a few more days.

3. Can I buy pre-picked berries?
Yes! We have frozen blueberries at the blueberry shed while supplies last. They are $13 for 5 pound bags.

4. How much?
U-pick blueberries are $2 per pound. We weigh your berries at check-out and take off the bucket weight. U-pick raspberries are $3 per pint.

5. What should I bring?
We have buckets to pick into and ropes to tie around your waist - just bring containers to take your blueberries home (Tupperware, bowl, freezer bags etc).

Reminder: Saturday hours are 8:00-5:00 and we are closed on Sundays.

We’ve had quite a first week of blueberry season with heat advisories and air quality issues! We’re hoping it clears up for great picking next week.

Please be careful on Thursday! If you are coming to pick blueberries or raspberries, we recommend early in the morning or in the evening after dinner. It is probably not a good picking day for anyone who has respiratory issues, heart conditions, is in a vulnerable age group (young children & older adults) or anyone who is pregnant. We are open from 8AM until dusk (which is around 9:00)….but this might not be the day you want to come 💙🫐

We’ve had a great first couple days of u-pick! Thanks to everyone who has come out so far. We really have the best customers.

Some blueberry picking tips & tricks, just for fun.

1. Come early or in the evening. Picking in the heat of the day is really hard. Be sure to protect yourself with sunscreen, a hat, long-sleeved thin clothes and drink plenty of water.

2. Blueberries come off easily if you cup your hand and roll. Ripe berries will fall off and the unripe ones stay on for next week.

3. If you are freezing berries, freeze them dry! That way you won’t get big blueberry clumps when you take them out later.

4. Look inside and under - big blueberries love to hide in the middle of the bush and way at the bottom. That’s also where the people who picked before you may have missed 😉

5. Don’t pick on the same bush as a stranger. That will make them annoyed with you. Facts.

1. When is blueberry season? It varies. Usually early-mid July through early-mid August. We haven’t picked a date for this year yet but will make a new post as soon as we do!

2. When is raspberry season? It also varies. Feel free to check back around the first of July. We have limited raspberries so you will have to call to make an appointment to pick those. The number to call is 616-997-6482.
