Weaning seems to be going pretty well! Maisie is looking amazing (As always!) on full feed and she is doing SO good on sand.

We got her weighed yesterday for her final weaning weight and she was 565! That may not seem like much but she weighs 145 lbs more than Jeanie did at 6.5 months old! In fact, she weighs 20 lbs more than Jeanie did at 9 months old!

Next up.. Dehorning!

Its official! Jeanie is pregnant! She is due February 2027 with another HBL calf!

Not only is this exciting because Jeanie is having another calf, But its exciting because Jeanie is the first cow that I have successfully bred by myself!! I'm super happy that I now know I am actually capable of doing AI!

Welp, Its official! Jeanie got bred for calf #2 .......by me! 😱 She decided to go into heat earlier than the protocol stated, so that was fun 😅😅

If she takes this round she will be due February 22nd! This calf would be a full sibling to Maisie. Stay tuned in a month for preg checking!

Proud is an understatement. Maisie did AMAZING at the show today! She even brought home some banners!

-4th Overall Beef Prospect
-6th Overall Sr Showman (one placing away from a banner 🥲)
- Grand Champion Chianina heifer (to be fair, she was the only chi heifer but she got AMAZING comments!)

And an honorable mention/small shout out during the Overall breeding heifer final drive! She was just a little too young to compete with the big ladies.

I cannot wait to get into showing her regularly. She is a ROCKSTAR. Our next show is in 2 weeks! I will post the ringshots when they are out!
