On an amazing trip to Thailand to get some real education about honey bees (Apis), and stingless honey bees (Melipona). Just a few days in and have seen some amazing things, learned so much, met some incredible people, can't wait to see what else is in store. Got stung by Cerana, Florea, and Dorsata. Got bit by some melipona species that I have no idea, but they should be called biting bees not stingless bees 😄. We got to see first hand, Tropilealapse and Euvarroa. Here is a taste of what we are seeing.

Just 5 days away from our second Bee Day. We have extremely limited qty left for packages and queens for this Sunday April 27 pickup. This will be our last Bee Day of the season so if you need to recover from winter losses or are looking to expand your apiary, make some splits or requeen, be sure to get your order in ASAP before we sell out!

"Working" a beehive in Ukasi. Kenyans do not normally manage the hive in any way. They set out hives as bait hives and colonies move in seasonally. They only enter the hive to harvest the honey and the bees will eventually abscond as the dry season approaches. We were putting sticky board on the bottom to see what we will find tomorrow.
