Legislative update: Somewhere, in the thousands of bills that have been filed this session, waits HB 1926. It is a strange legislative session, and the House appears to have adopted a strategy of moving at a snail's pace, for reasons that have been well speculated on in the media. We are already to April, and only a few bills are trickling through the sausage grinder. Realistically, a bill needs to have a public hearing in April to have any chance of passing by the deadlines laid out in the Texas Constitution.

The decision for whether, and when, this bill receives a hearing, is solely at the discretion of the Chair of the Public Health Committee, "Four" Price.

Amarillo area residents (Sherman, Moore, Potter, Carson, Hutchinson counties), and people with friends and family in that area, we need you to tell the Chair, "Four" Price, that this bill is important to you. ONLY PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN HIS DISTRICT SHOULD CALL.

(512) 463-0470 - "Hi, my name is _____ and I am a constituent. I am calling because I support HB 1926 and it's important to me that it pass. I request that Chairman Price set this bill for a hearing next week."

The committee schedule is posted on Friday evening, so they are deciding TODAY what will be heard next week. If it isn't set on the schedule that is published tonight, then we will have to wait another precious week as the sands in the hourglass trickle away.

Hey folks!

Good news and bad news from Jennifer's Bake Shoppe. Good news is business is BOOMING!! Bad news is I'm now officially booked through June 12th. I have openings beginning June 17th and onwards. Thank you all for your support and we look forward to working with you this summer!

Gooooood morning!! We're still receiving notifications of views on this page, unfortunately those aren't translating to likes on Jennifer's Bake Shoppe. This page will eventually cease to exist, so puh-puh-puhLEASE be sure to like us at our new page! There seem to be 1,121 likers left to migrate over to the new place, we don't want anyone left out!!

So very thankful for the TCFL and all the men and women who worked hard and long hours getting it passed. It has brought a new facet to my life and allowed me the chance to meet so many wonderful people and make our community feel a bit smaller. I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for each and every customer!
