🍪 New at The Genny! 🍫

Calling all brownie lovers! We’ve added Sabrina’s Baked Goods to the shelves at The Genny.

Sabrina’s is a bakery line distributed by Lipari Foods, a family-founded company based in Warren, Michigan. While the treats themselves aren’t confirmed to be made in Michigan, we love that they come to us through a Michigan-based company.

We’re currently carrying two Sabrina’s favorites:

🍪 Brookie Brownies — chocolate chip cookie meets brownie. The best of both worlds!

🍫 Iced Brownies — rich, chocolatey brownies topped with icing for an extra little bit of goodness.

Stop into The Genny and grab a package to try! They’re perfect for the cabin, campground, road trip… or when you just need something chocolate. 😋

Michigan Made Spotlight 🇺🇸

This week we’re featuring a true U.P. favorite—Red’z Bulgogi BBQ Sauce!

Made right here in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Red’z was created by Teresa Mauldin and her daughter in 2015. Inspired by their Korean heritage and a love for great food, they created a sauce that blends traditional Korean bulgogi flavors with a Yooper twist. The result is a sweet, savory, and flavorful sauce that’s great on just about everything.

Whether you’re grilling burgers, smoking ribs, making chicken, or adding something special to your stir fry, Red’z is a must-try.

We currently have three varieties in stock:

One of our favorite things about The Genny is being able to bring you products made by hardworking Michigan businesses. Every Michigan-made item on our shelves has a story, and we’re proud to help share those stories with our community.

🍨 SUNDAE FUNDAY at The Genny! 🍨

Because sometimes the answer to “What should we have for dessert?” is simply… ALL OF IT. 😂

Build yourself a seriously good sundae with some of the goodies we have at The Genny!

Start with a pint of Jeni’s Ice Cream — choose from High Five Candy Bar, Lemon & Blueberries Parfait, Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks, or Salty Caramel.

Then things get dangerous. 😏

Pour on Mrs. Richardson’s Hot Fudge or Sea Salt Caramel, toss it all into a Joy Waffle Bowl, and finish it off with Watkins Rainbow Sprinkles or Chocolate Sprinkles.

At that point, calories don’t count. It’s Sundae Funday. We don’t make the rules. 😂🍦

We’ve got some new goodies on the shelves from Terrapin Ridge Farms!

If you love a good jam, mustard or spread, you’re going to want to check these out. Terrapin Ridge has SO many fun flavor combinations that are perfect for charcuterie boards, sandwiches, burgers, grilled meats, appetizers or just pairing with your favorite cheese and crackers.

These are the kind of products that make you stop and say, “Ooooh… I need to try that!” 😂

We’re always looking for something a little different to bring into The Genny, and these definitely caught our eye!

We’re excited to introduce Painterland Sisters Organic Skyr Yogurt to our shelves!

If you haven’t tried skyr before, it’s a thick, creamy yogurt that’s packed with protein and makes a great breakfast, snack or anytime treat.

But what I really love about Painterland Sisters is the story behind it. It was started by sisters Hayley and Stephanie Painter, who are fourth-generation farmers. They came home to their family farm with a mission to help keep family farming alive and support other American dairy farmers along the way. ❤️🐄

They focus on organic and regenerative farming practices and believe in knowing where your food comes from and supporting the farmers who produce it.

And now you can find their yogurt right here at The Genny! 🥛

We’re excited to introduce Le Village Sparkling French Lemonades, now available at The Genny!

Straight from France, these beautifully crafted sparkling beverages are made with natural flavors and are as refreshing as they are elegant. Whether you’re relaxing after a day on the trails, enjoying a picnic by the lake, or simply looking for something unique, these French sodas are the perfect treat. And a great mixer too!

🍋 Lemon Mint – Crisp, refreshing, and lightly herbal with a bright citrus finish.

🍊 Blood Orange – Bold, vibrant, and bursting with sweet-tart citrus flavor.

Packaged in charming vintage-style glass bottles, they’re almost too pretty to open… almost. 😉

A little while ago, someone walked into the shelter and handed over a blanket and a donation of $3.00. We talked about the weather, sick cats, dogs, and the giveaway items in our entry. She told me about her little senior dog and showed me his photos. Then she apologized for only giving us $3.00, but it was all she could afford. Sadly, we hear that quite often when someone stops in to drop off a gift or donates on our website: "I wish it could be more, but I just don't have it right now."

That $3.00 is enough to provide 1-2 vaccines for an animal, deworming or a microchip. It can buy some training treats to help with enrichment, some peanut butter for Kongs, a couple jars of baby food or tuna for cats that need extra incentive to eat.

EVERY dollar helps our shelter animals even when you may think it's not enough. Don't ever beat yourself up for not being able to give more. We appreciate you more than you know.
